Alice And Mrs. Voorhees Haunted By Poltergeists
Only the people in Australia and New Zealand, and maybe a few others, will be able to experience this strange and unusual occurence. What am I talking about? How about a Region 4 Double Feature DVD containing both Friday the 13th (1980) and the original Poltergeist. This unique combination of movies will never happen within the United States as the original 8 Friday the 13th movies are owned by Paramount so a matchup with Poltergeist cannot happen. Listed below are some specs on the DVD combo. Maybe this could be some sort of matchup down the line, Poltergeist vs Jason??
Languages: English Dolby Digital 5.1 - English Dolby Digital 2.0 - English Dolby Digital Mono
Subtitles: Dutch - Italian - German - Romanian - Icelandic - English - Arabic - French - Bulgarian - Spanish - English for the Hearing Impaired
not a bad combination. the f13 art is awesome too. tsk tsk. there’s no hockey mask in that movie
The hockey mask appearing on all of the Region DVD cover art outside of the US has always rubbed me the wrong way. What a way to milk the icon for a movie that does not even feature the mask :(
I think it’s cool to have a Friday the 13th movie doubled up with another horror classic. HOwever, I do not like the mask on the cover either.
I live in Australia, and i’ve always hated the friday the 13th cover, and yes Jasonsfury you’re are right, it’s the only movie out of the first 8 movies that isnt owned by Paramount here, instead it’s owned by Warner Bros home entertainment.
Warner has over time released 3 different covers for it, but none compare to the original Paramount cover which you guys have in the USA.
just a side note Poltergeist 3 was one of the creepiest movies ever.
Would be very interesting combo!!
Anything that THINKS it can beat Jason, bring him on!!!!!!
I already own both, so that’s no big deal, but I really like the F13 artwork on the front case!! Never seen that one before but it looks bad ass!!
i live in the uk and the hockey mask cover only recently appeared for the new dvd and blu ray release. not impressed think the cover was done by some spotty teen on work placement. obviously no’s nothing about the series
No biggie. Got My Friday The 13th, got my Poltergeist. But if I didnt have either that would be a cool double feature. I believe MGM owns the rights to Poltergeist.
Yea, having the mask on the cover is just an attempt to remind people of the main character of the SERIES. False advertising yes but its to get people to go “oh the hockey mask guy I know that movie” lol
Having another horror classic with it is a great idea. I personally would rather see something more along the lines of the series maybe a version of Madman although it wasn’t a commercial success.
i agree with you KnightShade.
I’m also in Australia and the USA covers are way better!we don’t even have the deluxe editions here.i had to buy them from ebay!
