Contest: Win Rare Friday the 13th LP Soundtrack From 1982
Well, since it is Friday the 13th I decided to run a contest. For those of you that have an interest in acquiring a piece of Friday the 13th history, look no further. This LP was released in 1982 and contains music written by Harry Manfredini that was included in the first three movies. The front and back cover art is displayed in 3D and requires the red/blue 3D glasses to view it as such. Those glasses will be provided as part of this contest. If you are interested, please read the rules below.
In order to participate in this contest, you must do the following:
1. Create a Friday the 13th mix audio clip. You must use music that was composed by either Harry Manfredini, Fred Mollin, or Steve Jablonksi from the Friday the 13th films. As an extra creative bonus, you can also throw in audio dialogue excerpts from the films. Be creative. The more creative the mix, the better your chances of winning.
2. Give your audio clip a creative title. It can be anything you like. The more relevant to your audio piece the better. Remember, the more creative the better.
3. Send an email with either a link to your audio clip or an audio clip attachment along with your name and physical mailing address to jason.parker@fridaythe13thfilms.com. Please include “LP Soundtrack Contest” in the Subject line of the email.
Entries will be accepted up to Sunday December 6th. The winner will be announced the following week and their audio mix displayed on the website. If you have any questions send me an email. Good Luck to all and have fun!

Good question, ratta tatta touille. There is no limit one way or another. Just keep in mind that the more meaningful content included, the more creaive you probably can become with what you’re working with. Duration, however will not determine the winner.

Don’t get too discouraged. Cutting audio together can be easy, once you spend a little time using a program you’re comfortable with and acquiring the audio clips. I don’t want this to be something that is impossible to do. If anyone needs help, send me an email or just ask here and see if some nice visitors can help out!

Im a DJ and i have been looking for that record for yearssss and of course, i would love to enter this contest to win it but now i have to find some audio clips or music from the movies to make a track !

Cool contest. I actually have the Part III opening song on vinyl. Not the best song, but a nice Friday the 13th collectible regardless.
I found one of these at my local used record place in SoCal called CD Trader – came with the glasses too! It’s a great piece to add to any Friday collection, considering the fact that it’s the only(?) media you’ll find the original tracks on (I think)- I like to play it in the background when I watch the remake – if you have a record player and this bad boy, give it a shot, you’ll love it!

I have an original print. It was in perfect condition until Hurricane Katrina. I live in New Orleans and it was in 14 feet of water in my house. But I salvaged what I could. It doesn’t play anymore. But the cover dried and the colors didn’t run. And I still have it.

Hm, that means music allowed from any installment except Freddy vs Jason? Hope I have enough movies in region 2 DVD´s that the region-locked DVD drive of my computer will play, so I can record music and audio clips I want. I sold off most of the region 2 barebones DVD´s of parts 1-8 when I had bought the region 1 boxset… some of them remained unsold, and I have region 2 DVD´s of all the New Line installments except JGTH. Will definitely give this a shot, I´ve done some movie music and dialog clips for cellphone ringtones from Swedish movies before…
Well I do audio/video editing and I got the entire soundtrack from Harry. This should be fun to do! Hope I can find time from work to throw something together.

i had a blast making my friday audio mix as i am sure everyone else will. i am just wondering, aside from the winner audio being posted, will there be anyway we can get to hear all the entrants creative pieces as well?
