"Ken Tarallo said on frightstuff that he was going to be on these dvd’s. Ken said that he didn’t have time for His Name Was Jason, but Daniel Farrands included him on these dvd’s. I can’t wait to see the creator of the mask finally get some credit for his work.

TES"

Ken Tarallo is no where on these DVD's. Tarallo is a lying blowhard dude. He had nothing to do with Friday the 13th. Doug White created the mask, and that's well documented.

"Are they going to release a deluxe edition of New Blood and Jason Takes Manhattan?"

Yup, and by the end of the year there's supposed to be a new DVD/Blu ray boxed set.

Are they going to release deluxe editions of VII and VIII? Which would be New Blood? and Jason Takes Manhatten, because it seems like all are being released but those.

Chris,

The bathtub scene is on the new TFC DVD. According to the folks working on these SE DVDs, the footage trimmed for MPAA cuts no longer exists in most cases, so I wouldn't hold my breath on ever seeing any of it.

Pete,

The part 6 scene with Jason's Father was never filmed, so they had storyboards created for it specifically for the Jason Lives SE DVD.

What's w/ the Meeting Mr. Vorhees feature on pt.6? Is that about the Elias Vorhees scene that was originally scripted then cut (but made the novelization book that I have)? I know it was never filmed so I wondering if they are going into a detailed discussion about it or is it just some kind of special feature about Jason?

Like many of you, I have been a true, dedicated fan of these films ever since I saw "Friday The 13th" in the theatre back in 1980.
While part three is my favorite, I enjoy all the films, and would love to see Paramount go back through the vaults, and review any and all of any footage that was cut, and release it.
We all keep reading interviews from actors, directors, and writers making the comment that extra footage was filmed, but was deleted because it would make the movie too long, was extra footage, or was chopped by the MPAA.

I was at a horror convention, and met Kimberly Beck (The Final Chapter), and she says there were scenes filmed of her, and Joan Freeman (Mrs. Jarvis) that never made it on film.
Could this be the drowing of the mother in the bathtub scene we have been reading about?

I don't think it was intentionally destroyed. I remember hearing a few years ago that some of Paramount's film footage was lost due a warehouse fire or something.

the trims were destroyed? so they kept footage of more crappy acting, but actually destroyed special effects footage that cost the bulk of the budget for the movie?

i've read several interviews from buechler in the late nineties saying the trims were in their vaults and they wouldn't allow him to do anything with them. but he may have not known they were destroyed.

...so somebody deliberately got them out and destroyed them? ...and left behind footage that is worthless in comparison? that's just fucked up. i wouldn't be surprised if the religuous zealots at paramount did it to punish us...kind of like bombing abortion clinics.

it kind of forces pt 7 to go down as a mediocre jason movie, when it originally was one of the best. but i'm sure that's the intention in actually destroying film rather than leaving it in a vault where it would have literally no impact on storage space. ...fucked up.

When something sounds too good to be true, it usually is...

Quoted from Dan Farrands (Cody posted this over on the F13 Community forum)

"We did find several lost scenes from Part 7 that didn't make it on the original box set. They are mostly "character moments" involving Lar Park Lincoln and Kevin Blair, as well as an extended scene with Billy Butler and his date on their way to the "birthday bash." These are definitely included in the new Deluxe Edition.

We also found a few outtakes of Kane rising from the lake and a better-quality version of Melissa's "ax to the head" death scene.

Unfortunately most of the trims from Part 7 were destroyed in 1991. Believe me, we would have killed ourselves to create the ultimate/uncut version of 7. But what we did find will hopefully give fans a chance to see (albeit not the best quality) some of that holy grail material, and we were grateful to John Buechler and Fred Mollin for providing us with the early work tapes that they (thankfully) kept safe all these years. Had it not been for that material, the Part 7 disc would have been sorely lacking."

I'd love to believe that the SE of Part VII will be uncut, but I'm not going to hold my breath. If Kane's VHS tape is the only existing copy of the excised footage, splicing such poor quality footage back into the theatrical cut would just make for an awkward presentation of the film. I'm still not sure I understand what happened to the original cut of the film. Many years ago, John Carl Buechler told me via email that the footage was available and that he was willing to do a director's cut of the film, but by the time the boxset came out, the word from Paramount was that the only existing copy of the cut footage was the version they slapped on the extras disc, which looks like it came straight off of Kane's videotape. Is it possible that some dug up the original footage somewhere in the depths of the Paramount vault?

does anyone know for sure whether they're doing blu-rays of these within a reasonable timeframe? money is really tight lately and i definitely can't buy both DVD and blu-ray...but i really want these SOON to see the slashed scenes and stuff. getting them in some form is a necessary expense for me.

my luck, months and months will go by with no announcement of blu-rays, i'll finally break down and get the DVDs and they'll announce them the next day. then i'll try to sell the DVDs on ebay to make back some of the money and end up getting like a dollar for each.

Just got my 4, 5 and 6 deluxe ediitons in the post. I right away put in the Final chapter disc. The "Lost Ending" is amazing, and great quality but has no sound. But Joesph Zito and Kimberly Beck do commentry over it and it has subtitles describing what would be happening. It pretty much rocks and it's a shame it has no sound.
The slashed scenes are actually dalies and out-takes which show the set up of some of the gore scenes and again they are in great quality. Overall Paramount have really stepped up for this release. Will update with other features.

An "uncut" release of 7 would be great, but I'm not sure that the original elements still exist. The footage that circulates on the net is pretty grainy, and I'm not so sure could be inserted back into the film properly. I truly hope that this is NOT the case, and that they can restore this film to the cut that Buechler intended. If nothing else, I'm sure the sub-par transfers of that footage will be included in the deleted scenes.

slick nick, are the slashed scenes for part 4 death scenes or just those same tv scenes we always get?

i can't wait to get my hands on the part 6 death scenes blown up to full screen. i've already taken the ones from the boxset, enlarged them and reinserted. it provides a little satisfaction but the difference in quality is so drastic. i'm gonna have a blast messing with this stuff.

part 7 uncut!!! i'm gonna shit. i will pay any price for that.
