I’m also hoping that, within the next two years cause of the 30th anniversary of Part 1 comin’ up, that maybe we’ll see a proper boxset done right for the LAST and FINAL double-dipping form them. *crosses figners*

Buechler told me via email several years ago that the original footage should still exist in “the vault” (at least, I think that’s the terminology he used) at Paramount. He also said that he would be willing to re-cut the film for a “Director’s Cut.”

If Kane’s tape of the footage is the only form that it’s available in, it would be safe to say that there’s no reason to even hope for an uncut TNB.

I still don’t understand why Paramount would just throw film away. Of course, I don’t understand a lot of the things that Paramount has done over the years.

That, along with not being psyched about the uncut footage (since as you noted, it was already avalilable to anybody who wanted to import and was shown on the highly disappointing boxset that we all already got, ect). You said a mouth full.

i’d like to congratulate paramount on the first smart thing they’ve done with this series but it took them almost 30 years, several vhs’s and 3 or 4 dvd releases to do it. the most that will get out of me is “its about time!”

now part 2 or part 3 uncut, that would be something to rave about!! that footage has NEVER seen the light of day.

I’mm afraid I don’t know, bro. (*shrugs*) It just had somethin’ to do with Warner Bros., of all people, holding the International distrobution rights for so long, and them having an uncut print, and at the tmie much less countries giving two shits about ‘evil’ hard R-rated, gory Slasher films. So good on them. North America is just so often a much different story.

For what it’s worth… XBox Live has F13 parts 2 and 3 available to rent in HD. Maybe that 1-3 boxset will be available in blu-ray after all.

This, on one hand, is way cool. And I’m glad that FINALLY we’re gettin’ some uncut Friday’s on here. And now hopefully, more of the cut footage can be re-inserted, and hopefully the exercised material wont be as in unusable shape pas Part VII’s. Ah well, that was a terrible instalment anyway.
