Well again…I cant even admit anything or really talk about it, but what i can say is this.

I love horror, I love the Friday franchise and I loved the idea to get to work on the first FJA series(just keeping people up, it was so much easier for us in production to put FJA then Freddy Jason Ash) ((I even suggested titling it something like that, like they did with Aliens V Predator AVP, do a FJA book…anyway))
I wasn’t prone to sequels. Im not
They have to be worthy or I don’t like them.
All I can say was I wanted to do something that felt less like a sequel and more like a continuation. Think Halloween 1 and 2, Im not starting a Michael debate but using it as a reference. I like the first Halloween, I’m friends with the John Carpenter family….but Michael just doesn’t fit the Freddy Jason Universe I’m sorry, unless they have a strode as there missing link in there family chain.
So anyway, Ill just say when the talk started the story intrigued me and this talk started towards the end of the last series, what we could do that would really make it all worth while having no idea we could do it, it was just talk.

Now we will just wait and see how it turns out….again please dont quote any of this….were just talking outloud here.

I Loved FJA and I’m really happy they are going to make a sequel, but their going to have to put a twist on it or it won’t be nearly as good as the first. Adding another horror icon could do it, or maybe not but something big has to happen, maybe have the evil in its true form from evil dead 2 appear or you find out something new about Jasons connection to the Necronomicon. Possibly explain why Jasons body was at the lake after the final friday? Where I’m going is that just about anything could happen.

i kinda doubt it, but i honestly dont know. I know I asked to work on a specific horror title and i was told they was cutting back Horror titles due to lack of sales.
I can say Freddy Jason Ash just about tripled the usual sales of horror which is why its got the do it again talk, but the other books usually dont sell 8-12 thousand copies a month in an industry were 30 copies thousand is considered low but acceptable
To put into perspective, the big dogs back in the 90s could break a million copies a month, some still are in the 6 figure range, so we need horror support because 8-12 thousand is REALLY weak and we will lose what we all love if we dont get out there and support it.

Shrugs….I heard a rumor like that…..but what do I know….Im just a paid doodler……..lol
On a side note…..this project despite many many many rumor has been in the works for MANY MANY moons as a film, the book was based off the screenplay that all parties agreed to, (i.e. Sean Cunningham,Sam Raimi, Bruce Campbell etc…Jeff Katz got all there oks through the writing process….with that said)

Easter eggs were even dropped in all the films throughout, that the creative teams behind the characters were dropping nods to one another. The first Evil Dead had a big Hills Have Eyes Poster in the Back Ground. Nightmare on Elmstreet 1, Nancy wakes up to Evil Dead on TV. Finally the movie to come nod was the Necronomicon and the Dead Bone Knife used to Kill Jason at the end(which left the Necronomicon at the Voorhees house, and the FJA book/movie picked up with Ash going to get the Necronomicon back…yada yada

I can say the original screenplay had sooo much more….one being the appearance at one time of Pin Head. Michael Myers though has never been considered that heavy by the studio, and the only treatment that was ever turned in, was lame….Laurie Strode moves to Crystal Lake, Michael follows her…the end…lol(Honestly when I talk to John Carpenter I never get the feeling he would be game for it anyway, but hes a pretty simple character in that he stalks the Strodes…but I will say, I like Johns version in the sense its a fun story..but thats for another thread)

The first series of FVJVA was great. And if your a fan of all 3 series involved (Friday the 13th, A Nightmare on Elm Street, and Evil Dead) it packs an extra kick. I hope the second series picks up from the end of the last comic. I’m just wondering what a reader would think of it who hasn’t seen any of the films.

They aren’t making a movie. It’s a comic book. The first series is already out and has been for some time. They are making a second series now.

Screw Meyers. I hate that character with a passion. I’d rather have Ash come in and do his thing any day than watch Meyers.

Freddy vs Jason vs Ash?? WHY??? most people want Michael Myers in the next Freddy vs Jason movie. This SUCKS. I guess they are going to go the slapstick comedy routine with this, remember Evil Dead 2. I don’t like the sound of this at all. Forget Ash.
