It would be amazing if the missing death scenes rumors are true for part 2. If they do what is right and just put them back into the movie, I think I would shit myself twice. After all these years, I would be more than happy with a missing death scenes featurette, though. From what the dude on His Name Was Jason said, the dual impaling scene was pretty intense uncut.

maybe i will get it for my birthday or something
but i still think its ridiculous they have all these extras for only blu ray i know it wouldn’t have fit on the one disc but could have gone 2 disc!

and i here from some top dvd/blu ray sites that some “missing murder scenes” for part 2 will be on there. (for part 2)

Now that you mention it, I wish I had not purchased the Part 3-D DVD because the Blu-Ray will offer all of those extra features, including the Going for the Jugular one on the slasher genre. I remember that was originally announced for the Part 2 DVD, but later taken off before it came out. Now I know why. They wanted more extras for the Part 3: 3D Blu-Ray. It makes sense now.

Why not include the commentary for part 3 from the dvd box set?
Why not ask Bracke to host a cast commentary for part 2?
If Paramount refuses to include deleted footage, at least include all previous supplements.

The 3D will probably be the same on the Blu-Ray. When they made the film in 3D it was completely different technology. In theaters they didn’t even have the red/blue glasses, but clear ones. What they did for the DVD was truely the very best they can to recreate the illusion of 3D considering that the film was created for a total different format. I’m affraid the only way we’ll ever see this film the way it truely was it to see a theatrical screening or by getting yourself a projector and really expensive 3D glasses which total to hundreds of dollars.

I’m happy that we are getting high definition quality versions of these classics. I own the uncut Blu-Ray to the original. I will get the first four on Blu-Ray and not only enjoy the superior picture and sound quality, but also the new extra features. I wouldn’t get rid of my Paramount box set because it will obviously house some extras that do not make it to these new editions, not to mention Parts 5-8, but I will be happy with my 1-4 Blu-Rays as they become available.
