and no complaints about the stripper number, it was funny and sexy. I just figured it was meant to be like the series with some extra fun stuff thrown in.

I heard about the possible producers talking with them, Becki West’s Sister lives across from me.

The Dog Story theatre was a VERY small venue. Only 50 seats (full BTW). No set pieces just a cloth back drop, minimal props used, lighting was very good.

Character changes:
Annie- was mostly the same as in the movie. Just a quirky and naive I suppose.

Jack- lots more muscle headed and jockish than Kevin Bacon’s character, he and Marcy are making out a ridiculous ammount, in front of everyone.

Marcy- A lot more promiscuous and not airheaded but not bright either. More into partying than the movie character

Ned- A more shy and giant nerd than the annoying practicle joker, clown character

Alice- Very well portrayed, resembles the Adrienne King “Alice”

Bill- Kind of goofy, like the shy girl chaser. Think Linderman from F vs J.

Steve Christy- Only in two acts, well portrayed

Brenda- Turned into a dress wearing hippie type

Mrs. Voorhees- seen throughout as a silent character covered by a rain poncho, revealed at the end and played it very close to the movie character

other incidental characters- (mostly one act) Crazy Ralph, Barry and Claudette (counselors killed in the opening), Truck driver, and Sgt. Tierney (whose character was pretty ridiculous almost like a high strung, lunatic cop)

The play ran through like this:

Opening musical number- around imaginary campfire, songs and scary stories told, two counselors stay behind and start making out (used some of the very same lines from the movie “Does ____ kiss as good as I do?”) They are killed by “unknown” killer.

Diner scene- Annie enters with pack, asks about Crystal Lake. Trucker drives her halfway (smells her hair in the makeshift MACK truck) Talks about Camp “Slashers” (can’t call it camp blood, I assume for rights reasons.)

Ned, Jack, and Marcy scene in Ford- played like the movie scene but Jack and Marcy are making out excessivly, ( again uses a lot of lines from the movie) Marcy attempts to smoke a joint in the truck (line- “Camp doesn’t start for two weeks, I’ll be responsible then….light me up.”) Jack keeps refering to himself as “the Jack”.

Arrive at Camp- Stump pulling scene, Steve and Alice are introduced along with Brenda and Bill….Steve leaves.

No officer Dorf scene or Second Crazy ralph scene, snake killing scene is there though along with some other comedy scenes like Alice doing Kitchen inverntory and finding a LOT of butcher knives, The strip Monopoly scene is in but changed into song number, but instead of Monopoly they place “password, Win Lose or Draw, and Strip Poker….a VERY sexy bra and panties act was added in the form of 3 strippers in a strip club. It didn’t work into any of the story but I think was added for the gratuitous nudity that is famous in F13 films

Characters are killed in there same order from Annie to Steve Christy although many of the kills needed to be changed. Kills that played the closest were Jack and Marcy’s kills…Marcy’s act was her in “the bathhouse” opening the backdrop cloth as shower curtains.

Climactic acts were done very well with the reveal of Mrs. Voorhees and she does her “my son drowned” monologue as a musical number. Be-Heading was kind of well done in a slightly funny sort of way.

“Jason” scare jump was pretty good too, he pops out from behind the curtain during the aftermath of the beheading and drags her off.

Hospital closing scene was pretty much for laughs with the lunatic Sgt. Tierney and big breasted nurse and clueless doctor.

ALL in ALL very funny and entertaining in my view.

Here’s hoping that it goes well. There are a lot of thematic elements in the first movie and that’s why it jumped out at me as well.
