first of all Jason goes to hell and Jason X – were horrible …once you turn jason into something more supernatural its not friday the 13th ..its the exorcist or some other movie.
As far as Jasons mother….they should do the beginning as a flashback and how Mrs Voorheese killed camp counselors to seek her Sons revenge …. would be a kind of familiar thing like they did in part 2 .

I agree with Jason X being awesome! Jason stopped being scary long ago so the most we could have hoped for was entertainment. And if nothing else Jason X is fun!

ummmmm when hes a uber killing machine is when hes the sweetest… in part 2 he sucked… Jason X was awesome btw, dont care what anyone says. Im glad that it isnt his stupid mom killing again because Jason is the icon an hes cool as all hell. Cant wait for this movie though Im going to see it like first day.

Personally I hope this just doesnt make Jason seem like an ultra retard like some of the latter films. If it stays towards the early concepts of Jason like parts 2,and 4, then it will be really great. Hell I dont even mind the undead Jason too much…. but nothing after the 7th film…. 8th, Hell, X, and FVJ were just dumb.

Friday the 13th will DEFINITELY be an R-rated movie, as with Platinum Dunes’ previous remakes, as well as the other Friday the 13th movies. Having MTV affiliated with the project does unease me somewhat as well but, if nothing else, this movie WILL BE for for the bloodthirsty fans!

Ok, this is my big question, I read that MTV is involved in this project…MTV one of the key players in dumbing down the American childhood since the early 80’s. They cater to kids…and the trash horror like Scream…is this going to be another horrid PG-13 butchering of a classic horror movie or are they going to shoot for the hard “R” rating and try and keep/re-invent the horror brilliance of the original four movies?

I am quite curious about the new Friday the 13th film coming out, as I am a big fan of the original series. I just don’t understand the information I keep reading about the possible plot timeline. The filmakers have stated the story shall be placed, “…somewhere in between Parts 2 and 4…”. How is that going to be possible considering in the original series, Parts 2, 3, and 4 all happen in 2 nights. Where is there going to be time for another story? What, are there two Jason’s!? Give me a break. Swift and those guys are always talking about continuity in the series, well, don’t dig up some half-assed story that is supposed to take place between Part 2 and 4! There is no time or space for that story. Why don’t they start the new film at the end of Friday the 13th and have Jason see his mother beheaded through his POV, and take that to Part 2, now that is a story that I would pay to see. You have endless possibilities of encounters. Don’t fuck this up!

I think that sounds like a good idea Tony. Have that typical Friday the 13th Part 2/Madman/I Know What You Did Last Summer-style camp scene with flash backs to what happened while one of the kids tells the tale. Then just see her severed head in the cabin later on. I don’t think she really needs to play a big part this time, unless they intend on doing something different with the character

I’m still not too contented with this for the simple fact that Mrs. Voorhees’ role will be short, only to show her having fingers cut off and her head taken off. For all that, the director could remove Mrs. Voorhees from the film and have these details simply mentioned by the leading female protagonist in the film.

Let Mrs. Voorhees pick up the machete again and terrorize millions like she originally did many years back in 1980. Then they can get back to Jason. There are plenty of “Jason movies,” only one “Mrs. Voorhees film.”

If this the only role Mrs. Voorhees will have in the film, I’ll pass. Once they give Mrs. Voorhees the respect she deserves for instituting the “Friday the 13th” saga by completely dedicating a film to her murderous wrath, I’ll be all eyes and ears.
