‘His Unlucky Day’ Has Finally Arrived!

I am going to do a full video review on this piece this Saturday, but I simply could not wait to show a glimpse of what I received this week. I know there are a few others that have received their copies of this and posted their pics on other forums, but to see this in person is surreal. Back in March we interviewed James Mangrum, who spent the better part of four years researching, sculpting and painting the definitive Jason Voorhees bust from Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter.

The images that we showed at the time were mind blowing as it was indeed like looking at Jason from the movie. James’ work prompted me to do so something I very rarely do, and that is purchase a bust depicting Jason from the films. I am not disappointed in the least with the work and wanted to show what James has created. Kudos to him for putting his life into this project!

New Blood Jason Goes Bump In The Night

We have seen a lot of fan and professional interpretations of Jason in bust form from Friday the 13th Part 7: The New Blood. There is, however, one full size, larger than life bust that is just completely awesome! The bust that we speak of was created by Bump In The Night Studios and has been out of production for some time. That being said, a member of the Nightowl forums is selling his piece and reminded us at the website that there may be a certain number of fans that have never seen this mock-up of Jason before.

Take a look at the photos below and see the very fine detail put into Jason’s torso, chest and head areas. The hockey mask, by today’s standards, may not be the most accurate, but still looks good on the bust. If you really wanted to, you could just purchase a more accurate hock. If you’re looking to buy this, have $1,600 ready to transfer over to the owner!

UPDATE “Jason Goes To Hell” Deleted Hell Demon Bust

Now this is a truly unique project that no one we know about has ever attempted before. Near the end of Jason Goes To Hell, the hell baby is unleashed and searches frantically for a relative to enter into so Jason can be reborn. Well, Eric Scherer is in the finishing stages of his Jason Goes To Hell Demon Bust, titled “Hell Awaits”, which is a reproduction of the full size Demon that was cut from the ending of the film. The full size Demon was the original choice to represent the demon that was the essence of Jason.

Time constraints and uncertainity by the filmmmakers caused this full size Demon to be scrapped in favor of the hell baby that is now seen in the film. Check out the production pictures of the Hell Demon immediately below and then see the in-progress images of Eric creating this truly awesome bust from Jason Goes To Hell.

I posted about this back in August, but now it looks like the Crazy Ralph bust is completed with paint job. Over at Scab’s Horror Blog, scabby posted a pic of a completed Ralph bust and mentioned it was created by Josh Stephenson. His website should be active soon, so I hope to have a chance at purchasing a Crazy Ralph!

Part 3 Alternate Ending Jason Mask/Bust

I found these pics at Horrorbid.com. Known as “Brute”, this mask accurately depicts Stan Winston’s makeup for Jason in the alternate ending to Part 3. The alternate scene and Jason makeup were ultimately scratched, but I still think it’s a cool look for Jason and probably a better ending as well!
