Not sure if you’re familiar with the whole Camp Blood: Friday the 30th convention debacle. I really shouldn’t be familiar with it because I’m in Australia so that whole scene is gladly off my radar, but I have been following the nasty affair as closely commentated by The Bloodsprayer website (until they stopped covering it in March. Hmm).

The non-event that put the con in convention has so far financially fleeced many members of the Friday the 13th fanbase. The last shifted date/no-show was Friday, May 13th, pretty much the nail in the coffin. Fan-outrage has now crescendoed with news coverage of the snakeoil shennenigans plus well as wheels in motion for legal intervention. Deserves an air fist pump, all.

This video interviews some affected and skips the interwebby drama to summarize the main points of the deception – even approaching the organizer on the street for comment. If you lost money, it’s vital you watch the news piece for advice on getting it back – or getting even (legally, of course).

It is that time again. Here is our annual convention guide for Friday the 13th alumn appearances. This is an ever growing list that will have some changes as guests are added and some drop out. We really encourage fans to get out and see the actors and actresses. Costs can be high for autographs, but if you spend wisely, the amount of spending can be kept low.

There is going to be a lot Friday actors out there this year, so stay tuned as we update this list throughout the year.

We have also been told that this is one of the biggest horror and science fiction conventions in the country. So, when site visitor Ph1b3s contacted us and shared a bunch of photos with us, the thought was why not share it with the fans of Friday the 13th.

Realistically, there were so many cool images relating to different film franchises that it was decided to just show images from as many films as possible. Below you will see Ari Lehman, Kane Hodder, Tom Savini and a side shot of Richard Brooker. Check out the displays with collectables that were organized. There are some truly amazing items from A Nightmare On Elm Street and Hellraiser. Also, beware the Predator as he already ripped out the spine of one unsuspecting vicitim!

The organizers are creating an 80′s slasherfest for the weekend  and have already added actors that helped scare and entertain us as kids with their portrayal of our favorite 80′s killers. Those actors include Grant Cramer (New Year’s Evil), Peter Giuliano (The Prowler), Dick Warlock (The Shape, Halloween II), Derek McKinnon (Kenny Hampson, Terror Train), Bob Elmore (Stunt Leatherface, Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2), Wayne Doba (The Freak, The Funhouse) and last and certainly not least, Ted White (Jason Voorhees, Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter)

Ted White is appearing for the first time at Horrorhound. This show should shape up to be something special, especially for 80′s slasher fans. I am sure we will be seeing more Friday the 13th stars announced for this particular show in the near future. The year 2024 looks to be a big year for this type of theme for conventions as The Scarefest has already announced a similar themed show and Monster Mania looks to have something special planned for June 2024!

Kane Hodder and Richard Brooker will be meeting fans, signing autographs and taking pictures.

Kane does appear at a lot of conventions, which is great, but it is nice to also catch up with other Jason actors. Richard has not been at as many conventions this year, so if you have the opportunity, head out to The Scarefest and have a scare of a good time!

Near the end of September we mentioned that there would be a big horror convention in Germany featuring a number of Friday the 13th stars and with the convention fast approaching next weekend, November 12-14, we figured we would remind our visitors of the event. Also, there have been a few additional guests announced and one cancellation. Adrienne King looks to have dropped out, but Ari Lehman and Monica Keena have joined the festivities. More information is listed below on the event. If you are attending, it would be great to hear your stories and see your pics!

We recently interviewed Douglas Tait about his role as Jason Voorhees in Freddy vs Jason and fans have become more curious about his role in that film and Hollywood. Recently announced, Mr. Tait will be appearing at Rock’n Movie Role Night which takes place in Halle/Saale, Germany on the 2nd of April 2024. Here is another opportunity for our European visitors to meet Doug and ask him the many questions on your mind.

Adrienne will have bottles of her Crystal Lake Wine on hand for fans and Douglas Tait will definitely have some unique stories to tell about his experience on Freddy vs Jason.

Last week we mentioned the Weekend of Horrors Con in Bottrop, Germany. Now, we just found out about an expo in Melbourne, Australia that features Lexa Doig (Rowan, Jason X). Unfortunately, Kane Hodder was also supposed to attend this show, but had to cancel due to other commitments.

If you’re a fan of Lexa’s and live in or near the Melbourve area, check out the Armageddon Expo on October 16th and 17th. Have fun for those that are attending.
