It's funny that the scenes put in the movie at the last minute were the ones that the fans liked the most. Those scenes being the ones that included Jason. I'm curious as to how this movie would turn out otherwise, featuring much less Jason. Then again, I also heard the first draft was rejected, and I'm guessing that one would've followed a similar Friday formula. Oh well, I'm not mad at what we got.

Freddy's Dead is the weakest out of all the nightmare movie. I enjoy Freddy's Dead as much as I enjoy Jason Goes To Hell. With Freddy's Dead we all get stupid dreams time to time & Freddy's Dead was like a real stupid dream & I mean that in a good way. The only thing I found that was missing in Jason Goes To Hell was Jason kill at least 3 to 5 people in his own body in Camp Crystal Lake. I like them both.

Making Freddy and Jason deadites pretty much allows the Evil Dead series to overshadow the Friday the 13th and NOES series' IMO

I like Freddy and Jason to be unique within their respective series.
Linking them to the necronomicon and making them deadites takes something away from them, IMO.
And considering they don't exactly meet the usual description of a deadite it's tough to force them into that box in an acceptable way.

Originally there was never meant to be a connection between Evil Dead and Jason Goes to Hell.
The Necronomicon being put in the film by the FX guy from KNB was just an inside joke and a sight gag for fans.
It was never meant to link the 2 series at all, but fans decided to assign meaning to it.
Then Jeff Katz wrote his Freddy vs Jason vs Ash script that lead to the comics and retconned it into crossing over.
I don't consider the comics cannon at all and I don't really like the idea of Jason or Freddy being Deadites.
