I liked this movie, but the ending puts me off... especailly the fact he turned into a normal child with hair.. ugh.. that was horrid...
Well the fact they left him down in the sewer, must show that it didn't really happen.. and could have been just Renie's re-occuring hallucination coming to an end.

Also the director DID ask if he could take Jason's mask off, and they agreed.

Director Rob Hedden has said himself on the "Extras" DVD from the Paramount box set that it all came down to money. His original story was flipped the other way around: 1/3 of the movie on the boat & 2/3 of the movie in New York. He claimed to have scenes for the Brooklyn Bridge, the Statue of Liberty, Madison Square Garden, etc., but Paramount told him that he just simply couldn't spend that much money.

Shame as far as I'm concerned, because I think if they would have spent the money and made the movie that Hedden wanted to make, it would have been huge and Paramount would have easily made back a HUGE return on their investment.

Never sene it put this way before but you're right.. it DOES have a less cinematic and fopr televisual feel to it. That's part of what's bugged me about it for years so I'm glad to finally have it identified!

It was shot in Vancouver, they only shot New York in times square and that's it!

I figure the Julius kill will receive the most votes here but my favorite kill is J.J. Not necessairly the kill itself, but the entire sequence. When she is down in the boiler room jamming, the music is loud, she is off in her own world.....the way Jason slowly decends the steps before she realizes he is there is just awesome! I just recently graduated college and got a job at a power plant.....the setting inside the plant looks fairly similiar, and every time I walk down a flight of steps in the plant, that scene replays in my mind. It's kinda weird how some things stick with you. Part 8 has always been one of my least favorite in the series (it has grown on me over the years.....I try to enjoy all the films for what they are) but that kill always stands out in my mind.

its got its pros and cons....mostly cons if you ask me.... not the worst, not even close to the best, its just..meh.... passable. The flashback scenes were horrid.

I see Friday the 13th part 8 a classic. Great story but has the worst endings out of all the Jason movies. It one of my favorite Jason movies.
