F13 Part 3…This is without a doubt the best F13movie as far as Jason goes. He is the scariest, most ferocious Jason out of the first 4, before the series got silly. Watch carefully the scene when Jason shoots the girl in the eye with the spear gun. The cold, gangster like way he just throws the gun down and turns and looks up at the house, ready to keep killing. Classic moment and a rare insight into Jason's state of mind, through body language, which we rarely if ever get. And the scene where he appears in the window and hisses like a crazed animal and scratches at it in an effort to get at Dana Kimmell, because he needs to kill her, is one of the creepiest moments in all the films (although the creepiest moment in my opinion goes to F13 2, when you see Ginny reach Jason's shack at the end chase and you catch Jason, almost accidentally, running after her through the window, - sick use of camera angles and truly scary moment in cinema, and you get to see this scene at the beginning of F13 3 anyway, all the more reason to vote for F13 3 as the best of the series)In any case Richard Brooker brought the perfect acting to Jason in this one, which never quite was recaptured, although Part 4’s Jason is pretty close. In part 2 the sack is creepy but Jason's actual presence - his movements, his way of being - isn't as creepy as it is in part 3...like the shot of Jason through the hanging laundry in 3 is scary as hell...no shots like that in 2, they kept Jason hidden with below-the-belt shots until the end when he comes through the window...which depersonalized him thus making him less scary...Too bad we only got this version of Jason for 3 and 4...but in 3 Jason's off the hook!!!
