TCM2, Leatherface and Next Generation all seemed to direct sequals to the first movie, but replacing each other, TCM2 going for a comedic tone, Leatherface going for a slasher path and Next Generation... uh..I don't know what Kim Henkel was smoking.... I guess this is yet another path to follow, since you cannot replace the original, there has to be a sequal, and how the first one ends when it just cuts off when she is driven away, it makes you wonder what will happen next.

I didn't like the 2024 movie, Leatherface seemed too much like a big hulking killer, and the movie felt too action packed.
Original felt more like a docudrama about a tragic and bizare event that happend, and Leatherface wasn't some big monster, he was just a mentally retarded guy who was a member of a crazy family.

I read the plot for the new one... sounds very interesting... I'm looking forward to this, and hope to not be disapointed.

the majors would of course be
1.) Victor Crowley - Hatchet (2006), Hatchet 2 (2010)
2.) The Snow Phantom - Fritt Vilt/Cold Prey (2006), Cold prey 2 (2008), Cold prey 3 (2010)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uDWe2QbC ... re=related
3.) Chromeskull - Laid to Rest (2009), Chromeskull: Laid to Rest 2 (2011)
4.) Ted Radford - Midnight Movie (2008)
5.) Leslie Vernon - Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon (2006)
6.) Trevor Moorehouse - Bloody Murder (2000), Bloody Murder 2 (2003)
7.) The Inbred Rednecks - The Wrong Turn series

any others not on the list are of course welcome
but please reframe from judging characters or films you have not seen

as for my personal opinion of the matter for my choice for best killer and best films goes
to the snow phantom from the cold prey series without question
the first cold prey is a Supurb horror film the sequel is great and the 3rd film a prequel is goodish but not great but the killer is great in all 3 specialy in the first he just flows with cold icy death his outfit is made to have him perfectly blend with the snowy inviroment he dwells in
and his outfit /mask work just like michael myers mask did in the original halloween as this stark white form just flows ghost like out of the darkness

Recently, I saw the new remake of Nightmare on Elm Street and it was extremely good in my opinion. Jackie Earle Haley did one great job giving us a new image of the dreaded Freddy Kruger. Though it seemed necessary to put a new Freddy into the mix for the remake, what about Robert Englund? Eight horror-changing films (a few duds here and there) really make you an icon. The new Freddy sure did scare me more than the old, but you got to give props to Englund for making Freddy become an icon in the face of horror. Your opinion?

Scream started me into the whole horror genre, so Wes Craven really inspired me. As for actual villain, I would say Hannibal Lecter. He freaked you out just by talking through thick, bullet proof glass to Jodie Foster. But then when it comes his time to perform the deadly kills, he sure does deliver. Still haunts me at night, haha.

Seconded. If it were not for these two there would be no Stephen King, John Carpenter, Jason Voorhees etc, etc, etc.

Gunnar Hansen being on board would be a dream come true. He could make you scared one minute, and then feel bad for him the next. He IS Leatherface.

I'd like to see more of Chop Top after the cancelled All-American Massacre put him in jail (that would explain his absence in the sequel). It's safe to assume that Grandpa's finally dead, but who knows with that guy. Maybe he'll finally be with Grandma (and/or Great Grandma).

The 18-inch chainsaw seems best for a more realistic a approach, maybe even a replica of the original.
