Last I heard is that it may take place in the 1980s. Which might play into the lost sequel idea. I bet it's something like a reboot/lost sequel. I doubt it will tie into old movies, but just filler during that time. I support the 80s idea.. if it is to happen.

The 80s idea is something I'd like to see as well. That old style and feel. The only theme that remains consistent is 'wait until next year.'

I guess those days won't return.

IMDB is showing this isn't coming out until 2017 now The eight-year gap between JGTH and JasonX was 8 years. When the remake came out I didn't think we would ever wait this long for another sequel.

Hearing the reboot will be an in depth Origin story concerns me. We don't need an Origin story. Jason is an Icon. My suggestion is that Camp Crystal lake reopens in the 80's. All counselors are sitting around the campfire ala Part 2. One of them tells of the Voorhees legend. Jason shows up and massacres them all. Fade to black and Logo. Origin done. Move on

The latest online is that the release date will be October 13th, 2017. I have seen very little details on this regarding cast or location. Casting was supposed to begin December 2016... I'm not feeling this yet. Will just keep my fingers crossed and hope for the best (expecting nothing).

Currently the movie rights is tied up in court, Gee I wish I could make the Next Friday the 13th cause I have a few great ideals, 1 is that you have Character's that are so Good looking that you just hate to even see them killed off, Example Elisha Cuthbert, Imogen Poots, Amber Heard, Gemma Arterton & Indiana Evans just to name a few 2. Bring the Hero(Tommy) back, have Charlie Hunnam as Tommy. 3. New Gruesome kills which I have in mind Example a pointed end spud bar ran through a woman from genital through body and out top of head. 4. Give Jason 2 Hatchet size double bit axe's that he throws. 5. Reveal Jason's immortality and 6. A true and Final death of Jason Example Jason is unstoppable due to a Algae that has Regenerative effects that went into his system when he drowned, the movie could even be started with a flashback of the lake being drained and the Algae being collected 2 years after Mrs. Voorhee's spree, and a scene where the Research Facility discovers a reversible effect to the algae by doing studies on it, And that all one would need to do is inject into Jason's heart and then and only then would he be killable for Tommy oh and like the video game Have the same kill sequence and in the movie show Jason's shack with Sweater and Mrs. Voorhee's head. And I would also like to Add that this should be a Friday the 13th Reunion where Surviving Character's have returned to Crystal lake on there own free will together to only find that the camp has been reopened and that there are children there as well.
