Biography: "Ron Palillo started his own summer theater at 14 in Cheshire, Connecticut. His parents were surprised when the summer theater actually made money. After graduating from high school, Ron went to the University of Connecticut at Storrs, where he majored in drama. He appeared in many school plays in college. After graduation, Ron got a job with a touring company which performed Shakespeare's plays. Shortly after arriving in New York, Ron got a role in the off-Broadway success Hot l Baltimore which he stayed with for over a year. He is most well known as 'Horshack' off of the television show Welcome Back, Kotter.
Along with his thespian and comedic genius, he is also an amazing color and black-and-white pen-and-ink artist. His works have been shown and sold in New York, Hawaii, and California. He has taken his talent to the world of children's literature, where he has done illustrations for two books - A Gift for the Contessa and The Red Wings of Christmas.
He was teaching acting at the University of Connecticut as of 1999. This University offeres The Nafe E. Katter-Ron Palillo Scholarship in Acting and is awarded to an undergraduate or to a graduate student majoring in acting. Update: "Palillo's critically acclaimed play, The Lost Boy, will have a Broadway and London mounting in the very near future. He is presently at work on a new play and novel. And another film, as yet untitled, goes into production in September."

Where Is He Now?: Ron Palillo reportedly still teaches drama at the University of Connecticut, and recently appeared in a theater production of Inherit the Wind at the Ivoryton Playhouse. He can be seen in the upcoming film, The Guardians.
