06.23.01 Paramount has scheduled the release of the Friday the 13th Part V: A New Beginning and Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives DVDs for September 25th. Both will be in 1.85:1 anamorphic (16x9) widescreen, feature Dolby 2.0 surround and include the theatrical trailer. Retail will be $29.95. (Thanks to 'baconsdemise' and DVDFile.) The Jason X figure has been pulled from Movie Maniacs Series 4 because of the change in the film's release date. 02.06.01 From the Spawn.com Message Board: McFarlane Toys (producers of the original Jason figure in Movie Maniacs Series One) will be producing a Jason X figure as part of their Movie Maniacs Series Four set. The toy convention Toyfair begins Monday, February 12th and prototype pictures are expected soon after. Previous news The current issue of Rue Morgue magazine features a Jason X cover story. Fangoria issue 200 contains an interview with Sean Cunningham (alongside Wes Craven) and a roundtable horror icon discussion featuring Kane Hodder. The Jason action figure from Movie Maniacs Series One has been reissued in a super-bloody version and should be more readily available than the original release.
