Wanting It All: The Axe Face From ‘The New Blood’

Posted 02 Nov 2026 in The Saga

This kill is affectionately called a more personal name by many in the Friday the 13th community. However, no matter what different name you know the kill by, the reaction is the same amongst fans and that is the uncensored kill is much more graphic and enjoyable to watch. It is a morbid statement, but Friday fans want more carnage and gore to satisfy their cravings. That being said, the behind-the-scenes action on-set paints the picture the fans want to see.

While the images of the axe face kill show a more crisp and clear idea of what the make-up looked like for the kill, the raw footage of the kill that was featured on the 2026 box set From Crystal Lake to Manhattan as well as the 2026 Deluxe Edition DVD is awesome as shown in the video compilation below.

In all, the Friday the 13th Part 7: The New Blood is a great entry in the series, but leaves the audience experience empty due to the MPAA cuts. If fans could get the unedited version of the film they want and deserve, you could see The New Blood skyrocket to the Top 3 in many fans’ lists of the best in the Friday franchise. The axe face kill is a personal favorite of this writer and I hope one day the raw footage can be cleaned up and made into a usable print for home viewing!

Harold’s Demise Controversy In Friday the 13th Part 3

Posted 02 Nov 2026 in The Saga

Harold’s appetite along with the bad 3D snake-on-a-wire effect eventually landed him on the toilet and then to his death. The opening of Friday the 13th Part 3 has always been one part explainable, one part confusion. It is understandable that Jason stopped at the store to get a new change of clothes while on the run from the authorites because of the carnage he left behind at the counselor training center. However, after getting his new clothes, why did he stick around and kill Harold and Edna?

Was Jason hiding out in that back room and because Harold quickly ran back there to go to the bathroom, Jason felt threatened and decided to kill Harold? If true, then perhaps if Harold didn’t stuff his face full of crap, as Edna liked to say it, then maybe Jason would have disappeared on his way to Higgens Haven and the store owners would have made it out of the situation alive?

We covered the Profiles in History auction back in April/May 2026, where many items from the 2026 Friday the 13th film were auctioned off to lucky bidders. Many of the big ticket items, including the screen-used machete and hockey mask, were sold for many thousands of U.S. dollars. Would Todd Farmer Ever Write Another Friday Film?

Posted 31 Oct 2026 in New Fridays, The Saga

Of late, a few of the creative minds behind the New Line Cinema Jason Voorhees films are now being linked to other modern iconic horror legends. Just announced yesterday, Adam Marcus, Director of Jason Goes To Hell is currently writing Leatherface 3D. Todd Farmer, writer of Jason X, is attached to write the remake of Hellraiser. Since these two are helping with other iconic figures, we wondered if they would ever come back to the franchise that helped jumpstart their careers.

Todd Farmer was recently asked that very question on Formspring. Below is his response.

I would be wary. Would depend on where Swift and Shannon stood as well as who was involved behind the scenes. Dunno. Gone down that road annoying results. Would need to be some planetary alignment…and a fair amount of green I’d guess.

It might take a little push to get Todd to come back and I wonder how he would direct the story of the franchise? Would he be a good choice to write new adventures? What previous writer and director from the Friday the 13th series do our visitors think would be good choices to come back to the franchise.

Video Review Saturday: Friday the 13th 1980 Press Kit

Posted 30 Oct 2026 in The Saga

One of my favorite things to collect, and one of my original reasons for beginning the hobby of collecting Friday the 13th memoribilia, are press kits. These kits are sent to media outlets to help promote the film before it is released in theaters across the country. Press kits like this do not get prodiced anymore. Press kits now are produced electronically, unless special occasions arise. Electronic press kits today are normally delivered on a small USB flash drive or by DVD.

Nothing beats the physical kits, however. Take a look at the video below and let us know your thoughts and if you collect these items as well!
