Another ‘A New Beginning’ Video Promo Mask

Posted 24 Sep 2026 in Merchandise

I think by now most fans are aware of the light-up video store promotional mask for Friday the 13th: A New Beginning. I did a video review of that piece a few weeks ago, so if you are not aware of that promotional item, check out the video for more information. Recently, another video store promotional mask surfaced for the film and it is something that should be added to any serious collector’s collection.

The item is an actual hockey mask, which sports the decals of Paramount Home Video and the title of Friday the 13th Part V: A New Beginning. The hockey mask used for the U.S. box cover art is something of an intriguing addition to the series as although it was never used within the film, it oddly seems to be as much a part of the franchise as the other hockey masks used in the series. Gaze at the pics below and see what you think.

Derek Mears Interviews for ‘The Walking Dead’

Posted 24 Sep 2026 in The Saga

Derek is just all over the place now. He is getting numerous acting gigs and he shows no signs of slowing down. This Halloween, AMC is going to debut the new series, The Walking Dead, which is a based off of a comic series. There has been a lot of attention given to this new series, especially during the SDCC (San Diego Comic Con). With the series debuting next month, it seems as though Derek gets to make a little contribution to the anticipated show.

Derek mentioned earlier in the day at his Twitter account that he was going to be doing interviews at AMC that will be a lead-in for The Walking Dead on Halloween. He seemed pretty excited about the notion as he called it “Super cool!”. What exactly is he going to talk about in regards to the show? Not sure about that yet, but it is assumed that it will be a lot of fun. Keep an eye out for the interview when the series debuts at the end of October!

Final Girl Grudge Match: Jessica Kimble vs Rowan

Posted 23 Sep 2026 in The Saga

Last week was a huge landslide victory for Ginny Fields. In fact, it was almost a shut-out and I have never seen that before, ever, in any of the challenges I have conducted over the last year. So, Ginny is looked at as one definitive, tough badass chica to not mess with. This week shall be interesting to see where the visitors’ loyalties reside for the later films in the series.

Jessica Kimble (Jason Goes To Hell) vs Rowan (Jason X)
Steven Freeman took the big time beating from Jason, but Jessica got all of the glory for helping send Jason to hell in JGTH. Jessica was no wimp while engaging her maternal instincts to protect her kid from Jason, but only her bloodline saved her from certain doom. Now Rowan took Jason head on in the opening sequence of Jason X. Shooting Jason with a shotgun and getting him into cryo-freeze took a lot of nerve. In the end, both females were willing to sacrifice themselves to stop Jason once and for all.

Who would survive a death match between one another and emerge victorious?

Friday The 13th Helps Anchor AMC Fear Fest 2026

Posted 22 Sep 2026 in The Saga

The channel AMC use to be more well known as American Movie Classics, however, the term “classics” was lost on the channel a few years ago. That being said, they did start a very cool annual tradition of Monsterfest for the Halloween season some years back. In recent years, the choice of films to accompany this festival of films has been lacking. One complaint from fans of this website has been the lack of Friday the 13th films. Last year, only Jason Goes To Hell was shown. This year, however, that is about to change.

The Friday the 13th series looks to help kick off the Halloween Horrorthon on AMC starting on October 18th, beginning with the classic that started it all. Check out the showtimes for the films below and don’t forget to visit AMC’s website for all things Halloween in the coming weeks.

1/6 Scale Custom Jason Voorhees Head Sculpts Realistic!

Posted 22 Sep 2026 in Fans

Back in June, we showed you some truly spectacular custom Jason head sculpts that were being prepared for full 1/6 scale custom figures. Many of the head sculpts are still in progress, but from what we are being told, everything is getting closer to completion. One of the callaborators, Ken McCabe has been nice enough to update us on the progress of these sculpts. His initial email explains the future plans of these custom figures

I recently partnered up with a really close friend and we are going about this together 50/50 on the commissions and clothing etc.. We are planning to do EVERY JASON from a child up to the remake. Once these sculpts come to fruition and we get the proper bodies, accessories and props to create the perfect 1:6 scale figure we will be offering these for sale as either unpainted kits or fully painted figures. The one thing we are trying to focus on is keeping the cost down as these custom jobs aren’t cheap.

The recent update on these customs was just received, and I must say, sign us up for the Jason Goes To Hell figure now. Take a look at the Part 3 Jason and Jason Goes To Hell pics below! Click on the thumbnails for larger images.

HHN Provides A Lost Friday the 13th 2026 Kill

Posted 22 Sep 2026 in The Saga

You all remember the “Killer Cut” of the 2026 film in which Jason was shown sharpening his machete on the grindstone, right? One of the items I thought they could have added to the film was to have a good ol’ face to the grindstone kill. It would have been pretty gruesome and made for a unique kill in the series. Well, the folks at Halloween Horror Nights are utilizing that same grindstone for something special to see by visitors to the maze, Kill Jason Kill, at the themed event.

On the gore scale..the “Grindstone Kill” in all new Friday the 13th maze is an 11. Didn’t see this kill in the film but you’ll see it at HHN.

We can’t wait to see what happens to those unsuspecting victims at Halloween Horror Nights starting September 24th at Universal Studios Hollywood. If you want more information on the Friday the 13th maze or other events at the theme park, check out their website!

Would you liked to have seen this type of kill in the new film?

When is Jason in Stores, NECA Updates Us

Posted 22 Sep 2026 in Merchandise

We revealed the packaging for NECA’s 7.5 inch Jason Voorhees figure in the beginning of August after covering the figure from the first glimpse at the SDCC 2026. The one question by fans at that time was, when is the figure going to be available in stores? Now, NECA has updated us on the release of the figure.

“Re-make Jason in 7.5″ format has arrived. Should be in stores very soon. In plenty of time for Halloween. On shelves this week or next depending on where you live – Jason & Machete.”

So keep an eye out on the shelves in the coming week or so to pick up your Jason figure! We might have one for the visitors to our website as well …..
