More Behind The Scenes From Friday the 13th

Posted 14 Sep 2026 in The Saga

For fun, we thought it would be cool to throw out some cool and rare photos that are behind the scenes from Jason Lives: Friday the 13th Part 6 and Friday the 13th Part 7: The New Blood. The first image is of Brian Wade, working on effects for Jason Lives. Notice the coffin dummy on the table. That dummy is used for the wide shot of Jason after Tommy opens the coffin in the beginning of the film.

The second photo is on set of The New Blood and has Kane in full body suit makeup, but without the facial makeup or hockey mask. It looks like Kane needs a break as he chills out with the scuba team. Some of you may have seen these already, but for those of you that have not, enjoy your first look.

Kirsten Baker Added To Huge Monster-Mania 16

Posted 14 Sep 2026 in The Saga

We are big supporters of fan conventions as they offer the perfect opportunity for people to metet the actors and behind the scenes people that have helped create some of our beloved Friday the 13th films. This weekend, there is a rare opportunity to meet some Friday the 1 3th alumn that have never made appearances before. Mellanie Kinneman (Pam Roberts, Friday the 13th: A New Beginning) is one name that will be a first time attendee to one of these conventions and she shouild be a lot of fun to talk to.

Now, another new name has been added to the already impressive lineup. Kirsten Baker (Terri, Friday the 13th Part 2) will be attending her first convention and this should be a real treat for fans to ask her questions about those shorts she wore. Did she really take that slingshot pebble to the rear and what was it like to work that little dog Muffin.

For more information on the event, visit Monster-Mania’s website. For those attending, have fun at the event this coming weekend!

Jason Goes To Hell Dagger Sold on Ebay

Posted 13 Sep 2026 in Merchandise

I saw this dagger for sale last week and although it looked very cool, I just could not see spending the money that was being asked by the seller. The dagger would have been a great piece to add to a Friday the 13th fan’s collection. The seller mentioned that only the handle was bought many years ago and that it was unpainted. The handle was a backup for the screen-used dagger seen in the film. The seller painted the handle and then added the blade.

Again, this would have been awesome to own. The paint work is great and the dagger is something spectacular to look at, but $650 for an item that was not even used on-screen is a tough pill to swallow.

We are hoping to get some pics of the maze after producers preview the set later in the week.

Video Review Saturday: Jason Lives Surprise

Posted 11 Sep 2026 in The Saga

Jason Lives: Friday the 13th Part 6 is one of my favorite films. When I got a rare opportunity to own a piece of the production, I jumped at it. I probably spent more money on it than I wanted to at the time, but it was well worth it. The information that I have learned because of my purchase has been invaluable to me as a fan. Check out the video below to see what I am talking about!

Douglas Tait Behind The Scenes On ‘Freddy vs Jason’

Posted 11 Sep 2026 in The Saga

A few days ago we mentioned that a third stuntman portrayed Jason in the film Freddy vs Jason. Douglas Tait played Jason in the very last scene where Jason emerges from the lake with Freddy’s head in hand. Well, Mr. Tait is going to be attending Horrorhound in November, which will be great for fans to meet another individual to don the hockey mask.

Douglas is also on Facebook and happens to feature some great behind the scenes photos from his time on set of Freddy vs Jason. There is one really cool shot of him posing with a very green Robert England. Check out the photos below and stop by Douglas’s Facebook page and say hi!

Also, Canyon News just conducted an interview with Douglas about his career in Hollywood. It is a very good interview and reveals alot about his many talents. Here is an excerpt of the interview:

Q-I have to ask this, since you’ve done so much work wearing makeup and costumes in films and on TV. Why would someone with such a handsome leading man face cover it up so often?

A-“Well, thank you for the compliment. I am very fortunate that I am part of a small group of guys, who get the opportunity to play creatures and monsters in big budget films. It all started as a kid. I loved Halloween and dressing up. As soon as I turned 16, I got a job at Universal Studios Hollywood, playing Frankenstein. From years of being there it turned into more work in television and small projects as characters behind prosthetic makeup. In 2026 I landed my big break behind Jason Vorhees Hockey mask in the ending scene of ‘Freddy vs. Jason.’ And as you know, Tommy most recently, I played the Head Sleestak in ‘Land of the Lost’ [2009] and the long face bar alien in J.J. Abrams’s ‘Star Trek’ [2009]. This character was created by my good friend Barney Burman, who won this year’s Academy award for Best Makeup. I have built a good following in the horror and Sci-Fi film world, and have been given such great opportunities because of my face being covered up, so I am grateful for that. Besides, I love playing these characters that are different from myself.” Read The Entire Interview

Friday Conversation: Tommy And The Roy Hock

Posted 10 Sep 2026 in The Saga

The earlier Friday the 13th films always wanted to leave the audience with one final jump scare. Usually, this tactic was rolled out in the form of a dream sequence. Friday the 13th Part 2, however, had a very confusing dream sequence that to this day has left fans still scratching their heads, wondering what really happened. Friday the 13th: A New Beginning has also produced a feeling of confusion due to its end dream sequences.

Immediately following the infamous scene of Tommy seeing a vision of Jason in front of his hopsital bed, Tommy gets out of bed and opens a drawer which contains his clothes and Roy’s hockey mask. It has been a popular topic as to how Tommy ended up with the hock and why was he able to get it into the hospital in the first place. Was the ending with Tommy another dream sequence, or did he really don the hockey mask and kill poor Pam?

‘Jason Lives’ Director Talks ‘One Dark Night’

Posted 10 Sep 2026 in The Saga

Director Tom Mcloughlin is still very active in Hollywood these days. He has directed many television shows and motion pictures and is very much tuned into the horror genre. Recently, Dread Central discussed with him his role in the Friday the 13th universe, but more importantly, the 30th Anniversary of his earlier film, One Dark Night.

One Dark Night is definitely a unique horror film, at least during the time of its 1981 release. Telling a ghost story, of sorts, was not the status quo as big budget monster flicks and slasher films were all the rage. However, Tom Mcloughlin seized an opportunity to make a film in which he had been developing for years. Check out a snippet of the discussion Tom had with Dread Central below and then head over to the Dread’ed site to read the entire discussion.

Though the flicks has always had its fans, I’ve always had was how did a bloodless supernatural thriller managed to score funding during the Sea of Slashers Era. “When we finally did get the money, [it] actually came from a Mormon businessman who needed a tax shelter instantly,” recalls McLoughlin. “It was like ‘Can you get this thing going in three weeks from right now and then we have to show it in the Bahamas to qualify for the tax shelter before Christmas?’” Fortunately, McLoughlin had already storyboarded the entire film and knew exactly what he wanted the movie to be, should he ever get the chance to direct it.   Read More

Synopsis of One Dark Night

A strange man named Karl Rhamarevich dies shortly after discovering a way to become even more powerful in death through telekinesis. On the night of his burial in a crypt, Julie is to spend the night there as part of an initiation rite, supervised by two other girls. The crypt becomes a scene of horror as Raymar returns to life and deploys his horrifying telekinetic powers, with coffins sliding out and splintering open to release decaying bodies on Raymar’s command. The bodies soon begin to menace the three girls trapped inside.

Final Girl Grudge Match: Chris Higgins vs Trish Jarvis

Posted 09 Sep 2026 in The Saga

The results of Week #2 and the Final Girl Grudge Match left Megan Garris as the clear cut winner, and by a tremendous landslide. Apparently, a girl who has visions of Jason Voorhees and a backstory that in no way fits the Friday the 13th timeline aren’t tough enough to beat out the other girl which likes to jam guy’s faces into her crotch while having high speed chases. Hmm, I think we need more female visitors on this website. At any rate, thanks to everyone who voted and now you have your work cut out for you as this next matchup might just be the toughest one of all of them.

Chris Higgins (Friday the 13th Part 3) vs Trish Jarvis (The Final Chapter)

These are two tough ladies. I don’t think that most normal guys would want to try and face off with these girls when they are backed into a corner. Chris threw books on Jason’s head, stabbed him in the hand and leg with a knife, then whacked him in the head with a wood log, knocked him out with a shovel blow to the head, then hung him by the neck and finally thrust an axe into his head. That’s an insane amount of punishment to endure from any one person, let a lone a petite girl with no prior rage issues.

Trish on the other hand dealt her own blows to Jason. She felt that Jason needed more cuts and gouges as she slices Jason arm with a machete through the basement stairs, struck Jason with multiple blows to the head with a hammer and then him through the shoulder with said hammer. As if Mr. Voorhees didn’t have enough head damage already, Trish then slammed a television over Jason’s head. And to finish everything off, Trish sliced Jason’s hand in half and embedded a machete in his chest.

I am exhausted just typing this. That’s it everyone. Good luck voting as this one should be pretty close!

The Jason Voorhees You Didn’t Get To See

Posted 09 Sep 2026 in The Saga

There are some scenes in the Friday the 13th series that fans just wish they could have seen. You know, having that thought that you missed out on a shot of Jason doing something that never came to be. Jason Takes Manhattan left many fans with that feeling as there were endless possibilities for Jason to wreak havoc on the New York population.

One scene in particular always looked like Jason was meant to be there and never appeared in the theatical print. That scene is the escalator that goes down to the subway.  After Rennie and Sean run down the escalator with Jason in pursuit, it was expected that we would see Jason going down the escalator after them. The potential for a number of Jason victims was there for the taking. However, now people know that Jason was indeed filmed chasing after Rennie and Sean on the way down to the subway. The victim count stayed zero, but a nice head shove by Jason to a New York citizen would still have been worth seeing on the big screen!

Another moment that Jason seemed to be absent and shouldn’t have been was in The New Blood. The now infamous scene where David’s head is discovered by birthday hook-up Robin never made any sense. How and why did his head end up in the second level of the house. Jason killed him with a butcher knife, so why then would he cut off his head? Well, at least in the original death scene of Robin, Jason is shown delivering David’s head personally!
