The postponement of the reunion looks to have been Monstermania’s gain as they have added a ton of guests from our favorite slasher series.

According to an unconfirmed source at Bloody Disgusting,  Universal Studios Hollywood’s Horror Nights will host a maze that revolves around Warner Bros. and New Line’s 2026 remake of Friday the 13th. The 2026 “Halloween Horror Nights” event at Universal Studios Hollywood will offer up scary new mazes based upon horror’s most twisted inhabitants. Many people within the industry, including Rob Zombie, are working hard in partnership with Universal Studios Hollywood in the creation of new, terrifying and exciting attractions for the Halloween season!

Paramount wanted Freddy vs Jason in the worst way possible. New Line wanted it just as bad. However, the two sides could never come to an agreement on the rights. What was left over was a frustrated John Carl Buechler, who was brought on to direct Jason Voorhees with the notion of having the two titans of terror dueling to the death. When FvJ did not pan out, the idea was to create something similar. The telekenetic teen idea was born to produce a legitimate foe to go one on one with Jason. Tina whooped up on the Crystal Lake slasher, but the victims had already piled up, and in devastating fashion.

I know that a lot of fans feel burned by the postponement of the 30th Anniversary reunion as a lot of people invested a lot of money and planning into the weekend. Most people that were going to attend were looking for signatures from the actors as a way to have a rememberance of the weekend. Well, Lar Park Lincoln (Tina, The New Blood) has posted some information that may help ease the sting just a tiny, tiny, tiny bit. Director Tom McLoughlin had the daunting task of basically jump starting a franchise that had already killed off it’s anti-hero and tried to take the story into a new different direction excluding that same character. When A New Beginning failed to meet fan expectations, it was decided that Jason Voorhees had to resurrected in order for the series to continue. What resulted is to this date the best critically reviewed film in Friday the 13th film history.

That being said, among the many deaths in the film, which kill stands out in your mind and would be called the best kill in the film?

Sideshow is really starting to make me a big believer in the dedication to the fans of the Friday the 13th series. Not only did they give the fans the limited 12 inch figures a few years back, they also have created an awesome original concept Jason statue for release in a few months. But now they tease us with something new.

According to Sideshow’s website, they will be revealing something new related to Friday the 13th. And what better date to do so then this Friday, August 13th. Stay tuned for the announcement as we will bring it to you here when it happens!

Even today, this entry in the film series is still looked up as the black sheep of the franchise. The one film in the franchise that does not offer a Voorhees killer. Although Jason does make brief appearances in the opening dream sequence and in Tommy’s hallucinations. Many have mentioned that if this film had not been named Friday the 13th and Roy was just the unseen killer until the end, that the film would have been received by audiences much better.
