Okay i have watched the new trailer for the upcoming new friday the 13th film coming out next year….
Too be honest i did not like the beginning!
First of all it is not jason… jason does not hide under the floor boards… that seems more like a michael myers thing or a freddy kruegar thing… not really a jason thing…
i liked the second part though… when he was walking towards the girl and she was all screaming and stuff and then slash and then the cam gone… it was awesome gave me goosebumps… quite literally xD

Hey Cyndi, ok everybody keeps saying that laying traps for his victoms, running and doing things like hiding onder the floor boards isn’t what Jason does. That’s NOT TRUE!! He layed traps in part 2. Remeber when Scott got his feet caught in that rope trap? He ran in all of parts 2, 3 and 4.And he hid under the stairs in part 4. Remember when Rob and Trish whent down into the basement and Jason pushed his hand through the steps and grabed Trish’s foot? I think they are doing a GREAT job on this movie.
If this does well, can we expect another 10 sequels? Lol..call me crazy, but i’d see ‘em!
I agree with Splitskull, cause to me it was great finding out in those scenes mentioned above that Jason could put together his own little traps like a hunter.
First it was Comic-Con, then they deleted that text, and now they’ve added the movie’s title. The key art has been the mask ever since Part 4, and it works, but there’s no surprises..I’d rather see a new one-sheet with the lake and camp or something, even a full shot of Jason or some of the actors would be nice.
this movie looks really good. however it would be fantastic after this if they made another one (not a remake) following jason x or freddy vs jason so that jason could be zombie and undead again. and they need to bring in kane hodder for that.

Hey, I like Kane Hodder, but in my opinion, he isn’t the best Jason. I’m glad to see someone new, fresh, more energetic, more fit, and a more realistic Jason as opposed to Hodder’s chest thumpin’ (often over-the-top) Jason. Mears also has the natural “look” for it, and really fits the character aesthetically. Hodder to Jason is a little like Shatner to Captain Kirk(on a small scale). Very forced, and over-acted, but we love it anyway. This can’t be a losing film. I know, I know… we all love the original, and sometimes hate to see any deviation from it. I love the original, but I’m also hoping for a new, fresh film! We’ve had years of the same-old-s#!t when it comes to F13 films. I’m ready to have my socks blown off with a new generation Jason!!

Oh no. Not the zombie Kane Hodder man love again. The Kane/Zombie Jason issue is beating a dead horse. It went on for months on here and finally stopped. This is new. It’s a reboot/remake and they are giving nodes to the earlier movies when Jason was not a zombie. Please move on.
if they ever made a sequel to jason x i’d shoot myself.. i’d rather be trapped in a room that played batman & robin starring arnold schwarrzenegger and george clooney over and over and over again rather than ever watch jason x again, or any sequel to it.. stupidest movie ever made. uber jason? more like uber pile of shit!

Uh…ok? Isn’t this the same thing we’ve been seeing? Hopefully they’ll offer some variety in the future w/ the posters. I don’t think I’d pay $20 bones for that either. However, being that it’s just the teaser I guess it’s fitting because you don’t want to give away too much detail.
This looks way too much like the poster for the TCM remake. Both feature the killer’s mask blending in with a black background, and even a similar font for the title. I know it’s just a teaser, but they could’ve made it a lot more original.
Unfortunately they can’t please everyone. lolol. However, I like everything I’ve seen so far, I can’t wait for the movie, and I think it’s going to exceed a lot of expectations.
Well, Jason looks great and I love that he is not some stinking mutant or zombie. Speaking of Zombies, I am glad they did not get Rob Zombie to kill this reboot like he did Halloween. I loved the remake of Texas Chainsaw and I really wanted those guys to do both Jason and Michael Myers. Hopefully they will redo Rob’s screw up the right way one day.
I look forward to seeing Jason back on the big screen and as he should be. I do not like the outter space crap and NewYork rampages. Jason, Freddy, Michael, and Thomas Hewitt of TCM, are the greattest boogeymen of all period! And its only right that great attention and style be given to any attempt at making a rebot.
The trailer was what I thought it would be. Man, they may even improve on this whole Friday thing like they did Texas Chainsaw. I mean, now that movie is finally a true horror film. The original was just cheesy with some flashes of brillance in it. I say bring it, and next let’s remake Freddy without the stupid dream world crap okay.

I don’t think they could get Rob Zombie even if they wanted him for it being as he doesn’t like the F13th franchise but I agree with you on that one. Dude, what do you mean stupid dream world crap? That’s what Freddy does, he kills people in their dreams and then they don’t wake up because they’re dead. He’s the Dream Demon! Unless they plan on doing a prequel of some sorts (and I don’t think they are from what I’ve read on it)where he’s human and killing off kids. Only time will tell being that it’s still in production and hopefully they won’t fuck it up. Right now it’s time to foucs on Jason and it’s going to kick ass!

Since the topic of NOES remake/reimaginig has been brought up, I read an interview w/ Robert Englund that Billy Bob Thorton is going to be playing Freddy in the 2024 NOES flic? I hope that is just a speculated rumor. I really can’t see him pulling that role off although Englund feels otherwise and that it is an excellent choice for the part.

Straight off the top, this new Friday is gonna kick sum major ass and leave smack for all them no talent directors that drop terds like Saw to choke on.
I loved TCM 74 Vampire , just looked low budget, duh cause it wuz ! Props though for the real blood drawn from the actors during filmin and saved on film to use in the actual movie (GREAT) The music didn’t go with alot of the sequences, just got spoiled by Carpenter and how he did it! (Genious) And as for NewLine’s dream world crap in NOES, why would they let that ride ? You know they could only pull off a hot horror film if they got permission from some other studio to use their stuff.

Robert Englund carried that movie just on sheer personality alone. I was so happy when Freddy came out of Nancy’s dream and chased her down the stairs at the end. I didn’t care how stupid it was to pull a killer out of some dream , I was just glad to finally see the slasher gettin a chance to make his victim haul ass for real ! Every girl I ever knew said that movie wasn’t scary cause obviously the fantasy fatal gimic was corny. Freddy is not though. Just my opinion Vampire, k. Ok !

Yup, I got some fine re-prints off eBay, all framed. Although my Part 3 was an original in near-mint shape, so I splurged (it wasn’t muxch anyhow; only $25 plus S&H) and got it being it’s one of my favorite instalments and Slasher’s of all time period.
Anyhow, I quite like it and sleep well myself, but to each they’re own my friend!

I dont know who ur talking to but if u ask the vast majority of Friday fans, they will tell u the most frightening parts of the early friday were
1. jason running into the makeshift house in the middle of the woods at the end of part II
&
2. jason running out of the barn towards the young girl at the end of part III

Cindy must be around 17 years old or something, because YES hiding is something that Jason did up till 1985(before you were born!)Then in 86 someone decided that Jason should walk around in broad daylight and not really try to run or hide. So the movies became less horror and more gore, or shock. Then New Line said, “How can we really make these bad?” Which they pulled off. When I saw Jason running in the trailer for this new one, my hope percentage increased to over 9000%. Maybe we’ll get a horror movie instead of some stupid teen drama flick with brutal killing. Save that shit for 90210 the movie.

Saw the new movie look under halloween post for my review.
I just know that in part two, when she (Amy Steel) said “There is someone in here…There is someone else in here!” To Paul, and Jason tackles at him, (towards the end) I damn near pissed a little. REALLY creepy.
All I’m saying is this isn’t a sequel. Yes, some major aspects of Jason should remain, but hair, no hair, what color shirt, does he wear boots or rollerblades… Does it matter that much? Okay, I’m being a bit sarcastic, but this is a NEW movie, and I’m keeping an open mind. Don’t want a carbon copy or I’d just watch my collection all over again for the thousandth time.

Actually lespaul avenger, Jason did run a bit in Part 4. Up the stairs after Trish (think that was her name in the movie), and alot of other spots in the final chase sequences. Yes, I’m one of the old school horror geeks who has been sorely missing the Jason of parts 2-4 (though I enjoyed 6 and some segments of 7). Never really cared much for the hulking Hodder/Jason, glad to see they are going back to the original look. I don’t know about the rest of you, but I was glad to hear the original music score, too. Now if they just don’t show Jason alot (until the end), and build up the creepy factor like the originals did, they I know I’ll be a happy camper. No pun intended…
like i said the remake looks awesome, but with the whole debate with jason running. he was awesome when he was a human however i loved it alot better when he was dead. it makes him different from any other killer. well him and michael are different. basically they’re the two you dont want to mess with. basically they killed jason right, then he was resurrected right, so any other jason movie that is a sequel that isnt a remake should have him as a zombie. because you can go a whole lot farther into the movie with jason being zombie. he can stand a lot more stuff. lets face it if jason wasnt zombie in freddy vs jason he would’ve had a hell of a hard time kicking freddy’s ass. besides when he gets hurt as a human he grunts. which i dont agree with at all like i said him and michael are set apart from any other murderer. im not dissing on any jason movie but if they’re going to make a sequel make him be zombie. and think of it this way, if he drowned as a boy, then when he came back shouldnt he already be zombie and supernatural? yes.

Well.. let me start off by saying I remember going to the actual movie theater to see the first Friday the 13th (yes, I’m old) and have followed the series ever since.
I had mixed feelings when I saw they were doing a remake.. I really wanted to feel excited about it but somehow knew that they would probably drop the ball. When I saw the name Michael Bay associated with it I knew it was all over. Can you say “Armageddon” or “Pearl Harbor”?
Now.. as far as this whole Jason running debate.. Jason is NOT a runner, period. At least nothing like the running exhibited in the new trailer.
As we all know, Jason wasn’t the killer in part 1.
In part 2 you could debate the whole “running” thing. It was more like an out-of-breath jog (imagine Fankenstein chasing someone).
In part 3 there was the scene of him running out of the cabin at the end.. this was a dream sequence!!

The new look of Jason is not favorable to most die hard fans. Why they didn’t keep the look similar is beyond me. At least the remake of My Bloody Valentine doesn’t stay too far.. and it’s in 3D!
Maybe if this Friday the 13th remake was in true 3D (not the red and blue glasses crap) I might give it a go. As for now I’ll probably just download a divx rip to see how they bastardize it.
