Biography: At 19, Debi Sue Voorhees won a "Best Body" award and worked as a waitress at a Playboy Club. She got a BS in Journalism and tried to juggle writing and acting. "I never thought I was very smart. And, so I thought I better do something with my looks while I could. And while I was Los Angeles, I started taking classes, 'cause I really couldn't stand the idea of waitressing anymore." About Friday the 13th Part V: "I went in for an audition and one of the things that caught their eye on my photo was that I had the same name as Jason." Nowadays, she doesn't really get recognized, but, "some freak out when they see my last name. I tell them Jason Voorhees is my husband ... it's a real bitch getting blood stains out of his laundry." Debi Sue had to film her nude scene and death scene on her first day on the set, and it was a grueling 13 hours. Quote: "Voorhees is my real last name. It really is. And one of the casting folks knew that with a name like Voorhees she had to at least see me. But getting the role is really kind of a funny story. The part of Tina was already cast. It was one of those funny Hollywood stories where the director saw me after the producer had already picked somebody, and then he saw me and decided that he had to jump up and down and say, 'I really want you to see this woman.' The whole reason was - which is really funny - is that he said I was the only woman they did auditions with who understood that when Tina, in the script, curses at her guy, when she says 'fuck you,' she's actually flirting with him. She's not mad. All the other actresses who auditioned, they would get angry. But I flirted.
