Biography: "Early in Bob Larkin's career, he starred in Carson Davidson's 1955 Academy Award-winning short film Third Ave. El, and was the only actor in Davidson's 1964 Academy Award-nominated short, Help! My Snowman is Burning Down! He still gets recognized on the street for his role in Robert Downey Sr.'s 1969 underground classic, Putney Swope.
Originally from the Midwest, Bob Larkin moved to New York in 1949, where he worked for many years as a portfolio photographer and an actor. Among his notable Broadway appearances are The Front Page with Robert Ryan, and The Great White Hope with James Earl Jones. Larkin left New York in 1974 to tour with Dorothy Lamour in the road show production of Noel Coward's Fallen Angels, and with Gig Young in Harvey.
Now residing in Los Angeles, Larkin has amassed an equally long list of feature film and television guest appearances over the years. On television he has appeared in E.R., In the Heat of the Night, Boy Meets Girl, The Jeff Foxworthy Show, The Wonder Years, Tales From the Crypt, Cagney and Lacey, Hill Street Blues, and Taxi.
Larkin’s casting in Weeping Shriner as 'the frail shriner' notwithstanding, he is a marathon runner as well as a swimmer, and golfs regularly, carrying his own clubs." - Weeping Shriner Bios
