Biography: "Yani Gellman was born in Florida. His first acting role was as a ten-year-old at summer camp; he was roped into the chorus of Hello Dolly. Although he confesses his singing and dancing skills are less than average, the acting bug bit him and he continued from there. His high school had a good arts and theatre program and he studied Drama with the University of Toronto Theatre Program. His first major theater role was the feature Boss of Bosses, and he played the lead in the Canadian film, Children of My Heart.
He went on to have a large part as Matthew Shepard's love interest in the television movie, The Matthew Shepard Story. He was a regular on the Australian television series, Guinevere Jones, playing the character 'Michael Medina'. He has gained popularity as this 'dark and swarthy' guy and become somewhat of a teenage heart throb in Australia.
Yani Gellman is studying political science and philosophy at college, but he intends to focus on acting for at least the next five years, then re-evaluate. 'I may go into writing,' he muses. And with a wry look into the future, this fit young man with a perfectly healthy head of hair tells us, 'I visualise myself as a fat balding actor in fifteen years and it's good to be able to go into another field.' He has already written a number of one-act plays, a couple of which have been produced in small theatres." - Guinevere Jones Site
