The new movie based on the Saturday Night Live skit premiered this past weekend and our own Jason Voorhees, Derek Mears, was cast in a supporting role for the film. Unfortunately, his scene was left on the cutting rom floor. However, Derek mentioned on his Twitter account that it will be seen in the DVD extras. In the mean time, check out the pic of the cut scene below with Derek and Will Forte (MacGruber)!

I love seeing Derek in other roles. I liked the behind the scenes that you guys displayed on this site last week with Derek on set of Predators. Very cool. I didn’t see any of the other sites with those images, so congrats on getting these to the fans!
It’s a bit odd reading that “tweet” from Derek considering he IS in the film. He made it sound like his work was deleted entirely…or maybe I just misinterpreted his statement. Funny flick, though. You can watch his scene here…

Wow Dereks getting a lot more roles now. I just hope when its time for FT13th part 2 He’ll reprise His role of Jason. The Man did an outstanding job.
Trust me, Derek WILL repreise his role as Jason! He has a 2 picture contract with Platinum Dunes. As long as PD gets the green light from Warner Bros. he’ll be back.

Why would anyone ever want to have anything to do with a suckie movie like this? And JasonFury you are gonna have to step up with some new interesting stories for us to talk about, the past couple of post have been lame and uninteresting. I think the site should atleast have 3 lead bloggers to keep it fresh. I love alot of the articles you write, but some new fresh ideas and topics would be nice.

I noticed that you have only started posting here lately and it is appreciated. However, I am not sure if you have been reading this website for the last year and a half I have been here? If you have, you would know that I cover just about anything and everything that can be covered in a franchise like this, especially when there is zero news on a sequel coming in the near future.
Not every post everyday can be discussion topics. Somteimes there is actual news to be reported, and that can be related to anyone or anything with the franchise past and present. I find your comments a tad rude, in my opinion. I wonder if you know the type of dedication and work it takes to post information on a franchise of this calibre on a daily basis?
I am sorry that we are boring you here on this free website that costs you nothing to read everyday. This site is an outlet for fans to read about happenings in the franchise past, present and future. So, thank you for your suggestions, but I think we are doing pretty well with giving the fans what they want. I suggest you “step it up” with some www etiquette and choose your words better next time before typing “lame” comments like you just made.
I think jasonsfury does an excellent job with this site. To continually have fresh news on Friday the 13th would be impossible, so to cover the “six degrees of Friday actors” is actually quite interesting to some.

Hi Jason Fury, I am sorry to hear that you cannot take constructive criticism very well. I have actually followed the site for a long time and even was one of the winners of the f13th blu ray and/or first 3 dvds release contest. I don’t believe that my comments are “lame”, if anything I hoped they would improve the site and make it better for all the readers and bloggers. I also complimented you by saying I love alot of the articles you write, which I really do. I also appreciate the dedication you give to the site. With that being said, you going on the defense as soon as I make a negative, but constructive comment, including advice on maybe how to make the site a little more interesting. Having a few different lead bloggers with different points of view is a good thing. Your tantrum I find is a little bit childish, selfish and “lame”. I was not trying to be rude, but you automatically took it personal, when it wasn’t meant to be personal. Instead of saying, I appreciate your ideas and it’s sometime we might think about you went. I work really hard on my stories, etc, you wnet on the defense and tried to make me out to be the villian. I didn’t appreciate that and I didn’t appreciate you saying, I am sorry that “we” are boring and this free website, blah blah blah. I was commenting on your topics YOU and only YOU write about, which makes you singular, as in one person. I actually love reading all the points of view of all the bloggers. To name an example, when TheRustyM. had brought to your attention what if John Carpenter would have directed F13th would it have been successful, you had never thought of that and it had alot of responses. I for one think he should be a lead blogger as well. I am not saying you don’t have great ideas because you do, but you are one person and can’t always think of everything interesting to write and to get people’s minds to turning. I am saying mix it up and get a few bloggers with different view points. I am not 14yro trying to pick a fight, I am in my late late 20′s. I just think we deserve atleast one topic a day that gets our minds a turning. And I would be more than happy to help contribute as well and not expect everything to be on your shoulders. Sorry if I hurt your feelings.
I can take criticism with no problems. What I don’t appreciate is having someone visit the website and say that what I am doing is lame and uninteresting. That is childish. Telling someone to step it up is not the best way to communicate your feelings. Like I said, think about how you are going to relay your feelings before typing.
As for visitor RustyMachete, he is a great visitor and yes he did suggest the topic last week. It was diffrerent and unique. We got a total of 26 comments on that Friday Conversation. Friday Conversations were a feature I decided to start in the Fall last year as I recognized many of the fans were chomping at the bit to chat about the series. My last Friday Conversation that I came up with received somewhere around 70 responses, so I think I can hit the mark from different angles of thought. ;)
When the inevitable sequel starts to gear up, I am sure that we will give thought to adding other contributors. You may throw your hat in too and see of you are chosen. Until then, enjoy the website and your free Friday movies that you won from us. There is another contest, if you want to enter! I hope I have not hurt your feelings!
I am a big boy and can handle it. I am one of many fans just wanting a little more. I was not questioning how many responses you have had. Some of my favorite articles you have written have been interviewing the actors, different scenarios for the films, filling in the holes in the series, and some memorabila up for sale on ebay,the collections of collectors and yes the contest are great. I have went through 2 vhs sets had three f13th dvd sets and now building my blu ray set. I even had a few on laserdisc. I’m really glad this site has been made, but I was a fan way before the internet or this site was big, as many fans were. This website just adds the icing to the cake and brings us fans all kinds of great information, which I am def. greatful for. I for one hope the next script is going to be better written than the reboot because if not, there isn’t going to be that much to talk about. Some people will probably hate me for this but I think that Derek Mears is very overrated and is so ugly he could have played Jason with his real face! Lol That’s why I am not that crazy about all the post about Derek. But, alot of people love Derek, so there you go. Hopefully, in the next film we will actually connect and love the characters.
