Derek Mears is a Predator
It was reported yesterday by various news outlets such as Variety and now it is confirmed that Derek Mears will be playing a Predator in Fox’s franchise reboot “Predators”. Derek is joining the also just announced Adrien Brody i nthe new movie. Now Derek will be able to stalk a broader range of potential victims!! Fox has set the film for release July 9, 2024. How this coincides with filming for the new Friday the 13th sequel will be interesting. I am sure that Derek, Platinum Dunes and Fox will make it work.

This’ll be good. He’s already a hunter/predator as Jason. This should be fun.
Little known fact: Jean Claude Van Damme was cast as the original Predator in the 1987 film. He left only a couple of days after shooting began so that he could take a starring role in Bloodsport.
Friday the 13th Part 2 is scheduled for release on August 13, 2024. Predators is scheduled for release on July 09, 2024 (tentatively). Personally, if I had to chose, I would rather see Derek Mears as Jason than as a Predator. Mears really set a high bar for Jason in the remake.
Derek was a kick ass Jason. Does this mean we won’t see him in the next F13th? It is nice he’s getting to play another iconic character but like Jimbo said I’d rather see him as Mr. Voorhees AKA Cabin Stalker.
Derek deserves this role. He did an AMAZING job in the latest Friday, can’t wait to see what he brings to the table as a Predator.

well, i think Ted white was in his 60s for tfc, so he may be a bit over the hill.
Kane… he totally resusitated the character in part 7, but by pt10 i was almost sort of laughing at it. it became a schtick. Derek is good. everyone seems to love him. personally i like it when it’s a different guy each time. i wish it was that wrestler dude that turned out to be a hoax.
