Friday the 13th Master Kompendium
This German Friday the 13th hardcover book had a limited run of 333 copies. From the photos of the book, it looks like it was published in 2024. This would be a fun collectable to own as I am sure there are number of images not seen commonly around the net and I think it would be fun to try and translate the German text while learning something about the franchise! Read the loosely translated description of the book below.
Daniel Libbits published compendium has nearly 130 pages. There is a short introduction to the subject of Slasher/Splatter by director Sean Cunningham. In the book all of the faces of Jason are chronicalled as well as the films in the franchise including a large number of photos. We also learn how many victims there are of Jason. As a beautiful and limited Hardcover, this book should be on all bookshelfs of interested horror fans.
Don´t bother with this one. “A poor version of Crystal Lake chronicles” would be flattering for this thing.
There are no exclusive photos in the book. They were either pics taken directly from the DVD´s or well known-pics from other sources (internet, Fangoria).
The info in their is faulty. They show pictures of Roy in csume and claim it´s dick Wiend under the mask. they show Jason from part 2 (under the bag) and claim it´s Warrington Gilette. It´s like the author just watched the movies and wrote the book without doing some research. Every 5 year old either knows about Dash and Morga as “the real Men behind the Masks” or is able to find that info on the internet.
Waste of time, money and paper IMO.
Wow, good to know. Thanks for the heads-up.
This book is a joke. There were a lot more printed than 333. There are 3 or 4 different covers, EACH limited to 333. As said by Germaniac, the pics are DVD stills compared by a feew others from the Internet. Not recomended!
Well, at least people who were thinking about buying this can now take a pass.
What a sketchy situation. I am surprised a publisher was able to put this out for sale without any backlash from Paramount as I would assume the publisher would have to obtain permission to print those images/screen caps.
