Production Crew Challenge: Production Companies

production_challenge
UPDATE: A HUGE ERROR ON MY PART WAS POINTED OUT TO ME AND NOW WE HAVE A DILEMNA. THE FINAL CHAPTER AND A NEW BEGINNING DID INDEED HAVE PRODUCTION COMPANIES. I AM GOING TO EXTEND THE VOTING THROUGH TO THE BEGINNING OF NEXT WEEK. FEEL FREE TO CHANGE YOUR VOTE IF NECESSARY.

With the reboot almost a year old, there are still fans visiting our website wanting Platinum Dunes to disban and never make movies again. I personally do not see where PD shipwrecked the franchise? That being said, if you had your pick of past Friday the 13th production companies, which would be the best suited to give you, the fan, the perfect Friday experience and ultimate Friday the 13th movie?

Jason Goes To Hell (Exact same people involved with Crystal Lake Entertainment, but at this time the company was not formed)
Freddy vs Jason ( Douglas Curtis, Robert Shaye, Stokely Chaffin, Renee Witt, Sean Cuningham)

  1. I know there will be some that want to vote for Mancuso, but this is for a production company and not an individual producer. So, you’ll have to look at the companies that existed and helped make one of the movies in the franchise.

  2. Georgetown productions inc. gets my vote, my 2nd choice would be terror inc.

  3. There is absolutely no doubt about it. Georgetown productions gets my vote!

  4. georgetown productions without which there wouldn’t be any others

  5. Terror, Inc.

  6. Terror Inc. gets my vote with Georgetown productions Inc. in a close second..

  7. georgetown productions. they got the ball rollin on this series in the first place

  8. Really? I don’t think this is as easy as just the “oh they helped make the first two” talk. And Im a big supporter of the two. I think its more of the “I wish the would come back” talk. However, I think that P.D. did a great job on the recent movie and think fans will only be pleased with an upcoming sequel. If they bring back key people involved I will be more than pleased with the results of the sequel.

So for me I go Platinum Dunes. They have the best chance to make this franchise better than the first 2 movies imo.

  9. Jason Productions Inc only launched the entire brand!!!

I will go with Jason Productions

  10. georgetown

  11. Jason Productions all the way ! I really enjoyed Parts 1 & 2 but there is no question about it, it was really 3 and then 4 that made me fall in love w/ the series and made it memorable to all the other fans around the world, what with Jason finally putting the mask on & all.

  12. The Final Chapter being my favorite film, I would have voted for a production company for that film. That being said, I think the best production outside of that has to be Jason Lives. Everything seemed to flow and the movie looked great even in the night scenes. I vote for Terror Inc.

  13. PD all the way.

  14. Platinum Dunes

Let’s face it, Friday The 13th has never looked better.

  15. Friday Four Inc. (The New Blood) is getting my vote in this round

  16. Georgetown productions all the way. Part 1 and 2 opened the door for many sequals.

  17. Georgetown

  18. I agree with you Jasonsfury on the final chapter, but since its not on the list I guess my vote goes to……..

    “Georgetown”

I’m not voting them for being the originators, but honestly I still don’t see how they pulled it off.

They shot a movie in the same manner someone with a camcorder would have but at the same time it has a pro look. Making something look professional and independent at the same time is indeed a task.

  19. Georgetown Productions Inc

  20. It’s tough for me to choose between Georgetown and Jason Prod. I guess I’ll chose Georgetown Productions.

  21. Georgetown productions.

And I truly believe that if the franchise went to Lionsgate instead of Platinum we’d have better re-boots.

  22. one word “GEORGETOWN”

  23. Georgetown Productions Inc. !!!

  24. Terror Inc gets my vote.

  25. georgetown productions

  26. Georgetown Productions Inc. gets my vote

  27. I’m gonna roll with Jason Production Inc. (part 3)

hopefully we will get a bracket for SpFx company b/c (and I know I may be riding the bullet with this one) but, I’d go with “Toybox” whom worked on JX…

  28. “hopefully we will get a bracket for SpFx company”

You will be getting just that, Corey. ;)

  29. And will we also be getting a bracket for producers too i wonder?

  30. Georgetown Productions for sure

  31. part of me wants to say georgetown, but if i can’t do a tie, i have to give it to JASON PRODUCTIONS.

pt 3 was really the point where it became possible to carry on the franchise indefinitely. the fact that they could not reimagine f13th without elements of pt 3 says it all.

  32. I’m going to play Devil’s Advocate and pick Horror Inc. Their concern was making money over making quality and it shows in every single frame. Karmically, making money was the only place they failed. I pick Horror Inc because they fouled up the franchise so badly that it was freed from Paramount and for better or worse, given new perspective by New Line and so forth. Go Rob Hedden!

  33. how come the company that made the first friday film didnt just make the rest? were they busy with other projects or something?

  34. @JASONSFURY:

Good job by the way on this type of challenge.
Cool way to create the ultimate fan voted/created Friday the 13th movie.

If only we could actually get these people to put our final script into reality….

    now that would be sweet.

But we all know it will never happen :(

  35. Terror inc for giving us zombie Jason.Hey i’ve always been a sucker for a zombie…………KI,KI,KI,MA,MA,MA.

  36. will we be getting another bracket after this? maybe one asking if this “ultimate movie” would have zombie or human Jason, Remake or sequel or sequel to remake, baghead or hockey mask, Jason actor, fast or slow (kinda like the zombie or human one.)

  37. Gotta go with Georgetown Productions Inc. simply b/c they’re the only ones besides Sean Cunningham to see Friday the 13th as a viable movie and decided to put up the money to get the movie made. I thank them for that.

  38. Jason’s Fury: I believe if you check the end credits of both TFC & ANB, you will find the production companies listed. If memory serves, Friday Four Inc originated with TFC. Terror Inc was the production company name used for both Part V & VI.

That being said, I will go with Friday Four Inc, as The Final Chapter is the best chapter in my book (pun intended).

  39. 13thslasher,
You are very correct. Thank you for pointing that out. You know, I thought Friday Four produced The Final Chapter, but it wasn’t listed on the box covers or anywhere online I looked.

I have added this to the post now.

  40. Jason productions.

Part 3 had the best feel and the best backdrops. The barn was amazing, so much so that part 5 seemed to use a pale imitation. The house was very cool, and, geez, they had to BUILD A LAKE for the film. Great production, along with the extra challenge of filming in 3D (and a new 3D process to boot).

    Jason productions, hands down.

  41. I take my vote back for georgetown and now movie it to Friday Fouronly because i knew they did VII(one of my fav films) and now i realize that they made IV too so I am Officially changing my vote to FRIDAY FOUR

  42. Ok originally I voted for Georgetown. But part 4 is My favorite in the franchise. So im changing my vote to Friday Four Inc. And apparently they did part 7 as well, which I thought was a good installment.

  43. Hey, I just realized something, where is the production crew for “Jason Goes to Hell”? I don’t think I’d vote for it but I just didn’t see it is all…

  44. friday four Inc.

  45. Thanks for understanding, everyone, with the change. You guys are awesome!

  46. My vote still stays with GEORGETOWN….

  47. My Vote George Town Production

  48. Where the listing of both JGTH & FvJ??

  49. georgetown
