Sad Day For Part 2 Camp Film Location

I found this out on the Guts and Glory Forum.  The site was razed in late 2024 after a buyer paid 3.3 million for its 45 acres. There is not much left of the cabins and their foundations.

  1. Well that sucks :( Friday 2 is my favorite.

  2. Some people have to much money and not enough heart. Damn it I always wanted to visit the site. Guess I better get my ass to Crystal lake before its gone :(

  3. That really sucks I loved the deck/porch scenes like when they all head out to the bar. Overall that whole location was great as a setting for Crystal Lake. Makes you feel old when familiar locations start getting torn down, at least the lake still looks beautiful.

  4. I agree: The Steve Miner sequels, as well as Parts VI and V, are my exploitation-y parential favorites, and I’m greatly saddened that they’ve be torn down in favorite of putting up a subburbanite sub-division or somethin’. I also REALLY wanted to visit that location, one day. :( Part 2 will always hold a special place in my heart, cause it is the first film I remember seeing on cable a lot as a young lad.

Ah well, we’ll always have Friday 2 on DVD, as well as new formats in the future, and plus, several great ‘03 taken fan photos from the “On Location” section of this site. I REALLY hope Camp NeBeBosCo from the frist in Blairstown, NJ well be left alone for a while longer, and maybe the Valuzet Movie Ranch out in Sargus, CA will re-build after that terrible fire a few years ago.

It’s SO sad what’s happening to all of these once perfectly fine, spooky & atmospheric Friday locations.

  5. part 2 was indeed awesome. lots of great scenes based in the house or around it, like ginny and her crappy little car not starting.

  6. yeah that was a great location, it will be missed.

  7. Definitely sad.

  8. Bullshit.

  9. Why tear it all down? Fucking idiots…..

  10. Now imagine what is going to happen with not only with this but with the land from part 1. It was sold as well. Pretty sad when people have to fuck with things that really don’t need to be fucked with.

  11. God Damn !

  12. I’ve always wanted to go to a Friday the 13th location. Damn idiots have nothing better to do than to destroy what is beautiful and creepy as hell. It’s all about the money. Here’s to hoping that whoever owns the first film’s location doesn’t decide to tear that down. They could keep it around and invite people to spend the weekend there and the owners could tell the story of how this is the very first location for the first Friday the 13th movie to be filmed at. The staff could wear Camp Crystal Lake t-shirts and offer customer service to the people who are staying there. People don’t realize that a fan favorite franchise was filmed at these locations and they could make profit from it by turning it into an actual place to camp out in that features nothing but Friday the 13th memorbilia.

  13. John,
Not a bad idea. I think that it should still be a place for kids of all ages to camp, but there could be special weeks where fans would be able to come out and have a Friday the 13th week. There would be all of sorts of cool activities related to the movie like Ned shooting arrows at Brenda at the Archery range, organized games of Monopoly(Non strip version), fastest to row their canoe out to the middle of the lake, who can chop off Mrs Voorhees head off first. You know, those twisted but fun as hell games.

There could be a contest to see who can reenact the campfire story from Part 2the best. The list goes on and on.

  14. Hey guys, a bit off topic, but I feel this is important.

Before this becomes archived and all, I just wanted to copy & paste somethin’ I wrote on the Guts and Gory forms:

I just recently got into contact with the Fox Theatre of Toronto people via e-mai, as I was telling you about, as I’ve e-mail many faous cinemas’ here in North America via e-mail to tell them to try to get into contact wtih you about 35mm film prints of all the old school Friday the 13th’s.

For Paramount, in order to use clips & entire films of them, I believe you have to log on here and copy some information from a reputable source and send it in:

    http://www.paramount.com/filmcliplicensing/submit.htm

You can also call them from the number they have up for the studio: (for general studio information)

    Area code: [323] 956-5000

Or we chould all write in, snail mail:

    Paramount Studios
    5555 Melrose Avenue
    Hollywood, CA 90038

I feel if we all contact Paramount as well as New Line Cinema enough, we should be provided with plenty of 35mm film prints for the series. :D

Anyway, to Mr. Gray, I hope my latest e-mail with those links and contact infor helped some. I’ve been trying to do my research online.

okay that was the message. So please, everyone, try to contact Parmaount without really being bother some, and New Line as well, because I’ve been told the studios out in L.A. have the most prints, trust me. The next highest number would be the independant collectors online and then the indie cinema’s of North America who all through out our continant show these around Halloween or Friday the 13th time. Best of luck to everyone!

  15. Really sad. This was one of the best Friday the 13th locations, not to mention pretty historic in that town. I always wanted to go there & am honestly disappointed that I will never be able to.

I think they missed out on a money making business there.

  16. I thought the Part 2 house was sold on ebay 2-3 years ago for like $2,500 - the buyer would have to pay to move it from the existing site. So, not sure if the house still exists someplace else.

  17. To Junior:

I know, I thought the same thing from about three years ago on here! I’m surprised no one else mentioned it. I know the original Myers house in Pasadena, California was moved to where the hardware store location now is, and I also believe this Friday 2 house was moved as well.

Can anyone else confirmed if it was bought or not?

  18. We also must realize that just because we loved the movie the person/people who now have this land is thier’s. And can do what ever they want with it. More then likely the owners either don’t know, nor do they give a shit about the history of the place. On one hand i can respect thier thoughts and practices, but on personal/historic feelings it pisses me off,
I guess either way we are fucked.

  19. That sucks.

  20. At least it lasted longer than the Evil Dead cabin. Still sucks though.:|

  21. Chris, the voice of reason. You nailed it dead on kid

  22. that really sucks :( part 2 is my fave and I loved the location.

  23. Junior Wadd and captain_brandon,
I too remember that story surfacing and it is even mentioned on our location page for part 2 that in 2024 the owners were trying to sell the house and have it moved. I don’t remember if it was ever sold on eBay or any other place. I can’t find anything saying that it was sold and moved.

It would interesting to know if this did indeed happen. Maybe someone will let us know.

  24. Typical. I would have liked to visit that as well. At least you can still check out the town from the begining of pt.2. Glad I paid Blairstown,NJ a visit last summer before they go destroying shit over there too!

  25. That is sad to see..

  28. lol sorry i get mad so i shout !!

  29. im not the guy to do this… but would someone be able to do a screen shot comparison with some of the photos on that site. i cant get the proper idea of what it looked like to what it looks like now.

  30. Matt… Yes that would be a cool idea.

  31. that’s a shame.
