Friday Conversation: Your Favorite Stalk and Slash In The Series
One of the things the franchise is built on is the ability to effectively portray the tension and dread necessary to suck the audience into a good stalk and slash scene. There have been numerous scenes that have delighted the fans all over the world. There are however, those few scenes that always stand out and set themselves above the rest. I have my personal few that I like and feel really represent what it is to watch a movie called Friday the 13th. Jason Goes To Hell Adam Marcus and Dean Lorey said that they wanted to create the ultimate Jason stalk and slash scene for this movie and they really did a great job of pulling all...
Friday Conversation: Attack Of The Friday the 13th Quotes
I had something else lined up for today, but one of our visitors, Schotta, mentioned we should all be able to mention our favorite quotes. So, I figured why not and alas here is your chance to discuss your favorite and most memorable quotes from Friday the 13th. Anything goes. Any movie. Any character. Any way you want. My personal favorites come a plenty from A New Beginning, but here is a taste of some of the quotes I like from the movies: - “You big dildo, eat your f*ckin slop!” - “I’m gonna chop you into itty bitty pieces my friend. Just like they did to that piggo, over there at the f*ckin crazy farm.” -...
Friday Conversation: The Coolest Moment In The Franchise
We spend a good amount of time complaining about timeline inconsistancies, bad musical scores, subpar writing and acting, and poor direction. I thought, for a change, we should focus on all of the fun, exciting, and truly cool moments in the franchise. This is an open ended chance for our visitors to express to everyone what their favorite moment or moments are in any movie throughout the Friday the 13th pantheon.
Friday Conversation: The Origins Of Jason Voorhees
Everyone that visits us here at fridaythe13thfilms.com are very anxious to discuss everything about the franchise. All sorts of topics can be discussed from the 12 movies that deal with Jason Voorhees and the curse on Crystal Lake. One subject that has not been explored very often is the origins of Jason Voorhees and his demented mother Pamela. Attempts have been made to introduce the father into the movies and Jason Goes To Hell had a script at one point that had Jason with a brother, Elias (which eventually became the father character that was scrapped). So, if you could write a story for the origins of Jason Voorhees, a picture of what his family was like or what...

Friday Conversation: Should Jason’s Father Be Introduced Into Future Films
Tom McLoughlin started the journey of bringing Jason Voorhees’s father into the Friday the 13th universe by including him in his original ending for Jason Lives. And although Mr. Voorhees did not make it into filmed product of Jason Lives, his story did live on in the Simon Hawke adaptation of the movie. Most recently, the special edition DVD of Jason Lives showcased storyboard art created by Crash Cunningham, which depicts the original ending of Jason Lives. Crash’s interpretation of Father Voorhees is actually what alot of fans have envisioned Jason’s father to look like, from what I have read on various forums. Later, the idea of Jason’s father was toyed around with in the script stages of...

Friday Conversation: The Worst Ending In The Franchise
With so many movies to choose from, this might seem like a daunting task. However, I know that everyone that visits this site already has their opinion on what one or two worst endings there are in the franchise. Jason Takes Manhattan and Jason X comes to my mind as being the worst endings in the franchise. I still like both movies and enjoy them greatly, but those endings make me turn away from the tv and shake my head. This is based on your own personal opinion. And that usually has to do with where you first saw these movies and what you were expecting from the movie going in. With that being said, which is your least favorite ending...
Friday Conversation: Your First Theatrical Friday Experience
I first saw Jason on the big screen opening weekend 1988. It was The New Blood and my dad foolishly took me to see the movie. My mom strongly disagreed, but Dad thought it would be no problem. During the movie there were about 6 drunk bikers yelling obscenities at the movie. That, along with the multiple nude scenes and number of swear words thrown about and my Dad never took me to see another horror movie again that decade. I had to sneak into Jason Takes Manhattan the following year with some friends, pretending to go to another movie. Good times indeed. What was your first Friday movie in the theater and what was your experience like?
