Friday the 13th Part 2 Press Kit

Last month we showed you what the Part 2 Pressbook looked like, which was distributed for promotion of the movie back in 1981. There were various pictures displayed in the pressbook depicting scenes from the movie. Now, lets take a look at the press kit. This press kit contains full size black and white images from the movie with a brief description of that scene as well a  booklet describing what the movie is about and brief stories about the actors and production crew. The press kit contains images not seen in the pressbook.

The difference between the pressbook and press kit is that the pressbook is one entity with all of the information mentioned above as well as some pictures printed within the booklet. The press kit has a number of full size images in black and white with descriptions of the scenes relative to the picture and a booklet with description of the production. All of this is contained within a folder. Check out some of the pictures below and on with the folder and production booklet that is included.

  1. sweet! some ralph makeup we never saw in the movie and a great boob shot

  2. There are more pictures in this kit, but most of them were featured in the pressbook I featured before and the other images are the classic shots that we all know and love.

  3. I love looking back at this stuff. They really put together great packages back then. I wonder if its the same these days what with Youtube and everything being so “immediate?”

  4. Unfortunately, this does not happen much anymore. Studios now send electronic press kits on DVD or flash drives. Just isn’t the same to collect these as apposed to folders with all of the goodies.

  5. I actually have this press kit and most from the original 8 Fridays and other 80s horror movies. These old kits are very cool to have since studios went to the electronic format.

  6. Awesome, Haddonfield1031! I am still missing Part 1 and 3. They are great to have in a collection.
