Friday The 13th Triple Feature in L.A.

part5picIf you live in Los Angeles and have no plans for for Friday June 5th, then you can be treated to a triple feature of Friday the 13th. The New Beverly will be showing The Final Chapter, A New Beginning and Jason Lives back to back to back.

I am jealous as I don’t live in the area, but for those of you who do, check it out and let us know if the theater does anything cool for the shows.

  1. Thats pretty cool. Too bad maryland doesnt do anything like that.

  2. A theatre in Maryland might. A few theatres in Kentucky and North Carolina did a while back.

  3. I’m so there!!

  4. im with u mike i wish they did i think de dose something like that

  5. I know the Valley Mall in Hagerstown Maryland a few years ago showed a screening of Halloween 4 and Halloween 5 back to back.

  6. Crap! I won’t be able to see them.

  7. Hey guys just be greatful that theatres in America cater for horror fans like they do cos they sure as shit don’t in Scotland………….KI,KI,KI,MA,MA,MA.

  8. Am I missing something, but why Friday June 5th? Is there a special reason they are showing them that day?

  9. Maybe it has something to do with the deluxe edition DVDs of the same movies being released later in June. The people that own Paramount also own a chain of movie theatres.

  10. The triple Friday feature is cool but did anyone notice that the theater is following up the next day with Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy’s Revenge? How lame is that? It’s the worst film in the Nightmare franchise!!!!

  11. Personal preference, I think Freddy’s Revenge is one of the best. It’s The Dream Master I can’t stand!

  12. I agree, Christian. I thought I was the only one who likes that movie. It can be a scary movie. What a concept for a horror movie. It has a great musical score and the scene at the pool is awesome!

  13. The score is excellent jasonfury, I agree. And the makeup was the best it’s ever been. If the later sequels were even as half as atmospheric as that film Freddy wouldn’t have become a joke. Funnily enough, we’ve been debating this at http://retroslashers.net/blog/never-sleep-again-a-nightmare-on-elm-street-part-2-freddys-revenge-1985/comment-page-1/#comment-68627

  14. God u guys are lucky, i live in the UK!! :p

  15. So, they are playing the Tommy trilogy in theaters in L.A. next month.

I wish they would do that out here in Hawaii, but Hawaii doesn’t ever seem to get special Friday the 13th screenings. Instead we get shitty anime conventions. I guess that is because we are closer to Japan then the mainland United States, but I really wish there was more love for horror out here.

  16. Hey there cat. It’s good to know that i’m not the only disgruntled UK Friday fan that posts here.I’m from Scotland.Where’re you from,if you don’t mind me asking?

  17. Don’t feel too bad, I’m in Cali but I can”t justify the 60 mile round trip! (its a big state)

  18. edit 800 mile :)

  19. wow 5, 6, and 7. what an excellent treat that would be if i didn’t live in new jersey!

these are 3 of my favorites, even though most people dislike part 5…it’s one of my favs from my childhood (i guess back then when i was a little kid i didnt actually realize what was going on and didnt really care that jason wasnt really in the movie; it still has a friday feel to it).

  20. Sounds like a good line-up. I wish that Chicago would have this, too, or something like this, especially in the summer, not just during October. Local theatres show horror films then, but the summer is good for Friday the 13th, too.

  21. Yeah, but October’s better than nothing. I’m just glad that some theatres still do things like this… I was visting family in east Tennessee when a theatre in North Carolina was showing Friday the 13th Part 3 in 3-D for halloween. I’d made plans to drive a cross state lines and see it, but some family drama came up and I wasn’t able to. I’m gonna try like hell to next time though.

  22. This was really fun. They showed the trailers to parts 1 & 2, as well as trailers to other movies such as the original My Bloody Valentine, Final Exam, Slumber Party and one other I can’t remember. Tom McLoughlin, the director of part six, talked and answered questions before Jason Lives was shown.
