Hock Comparison: Sizes Of Part 3 and The New Blood
Some visitors have been emailing me and asking a number of questions about hockey masks in general. Specifically, I get a number of inquiries about differences between the Part 3 and The New Blood masks. Now, I am not as much of a hock expert as some of our visitors from the NightOwl and Frightstuff forums, but I have an image that can demonstrate the size difference. I simply cannot remember where I got this image from as I downloaded it a while ago. Wish I could give credit for this image.
At any rate, I thought I would show the difference in size betweeen the Part 3 and The New Blood hockey mask. Notice the considerable amount that was shaved off of the ends to create the final mask for Kane Hodder. I know John Buechler wanted to reduce the size of the mask to fit Kane’s head better which is possibly THE reason for the decision of a smaller mask. I bet there could be other reasons and hope some of our visitors in the mask hobby can lend more insight.
I remember hearing they wanted to reveal more of the undermask, which they were understandably proud of.
Ok, I remember that reasoning as well and I could see that making sense for reducing the mask size. Thanks, man.
I thought I heard someone say, either on the His Name Was Jason dvd or the History of the mask feature on the Blu-ray Part 3, that they made the mask smaller to represent being ate away from being in the lake for so many years. I’ve also heard about them showing more of the undermask too.

Can someone please help me with a question. I saw on here or somewhere on the web, that there is another person that sells the Hockey mask blanks. I know of frightstuff.com, but I can’t remember the other guy. Does anyone on here know who or if there is another place on here anywhere that sells the Hockey Mask blanks. I know it’s off topic but i’ve been racking my brain for the past two days trying to remember.
