As this game was mentioned in my last Fan Game post, I thought it appropriate to spotlight it now. For those who have not had the pleasure to play this awesome game, you must check out the video below to see what you are missing. Every fan wants to play a game as Jason taking out victims, well here you go.

When the hell are they going to release a decent FT13th game for like PS3 or XBOX360. That piece of crap nintendo game from 1988 was a disgrace. The concept above is perfect all we need now is better graphics.

Havoc´s game is the only 3d fangame ever made. Sure, there where several demos over he years (by MSKEN e.g.) but Havoc is the first who completed something like that. It makes me sick that there are people who are complaining about fangames (or fangames). Haoc made this game all by himself, he spent MONTHS of his life to complete this game and present it to us … and he did it FOR FREE! You don´t have to pay a single buck to get it. You behave like thisis a new release from a professional company like THQ, Activision etc. Before YOU bitch about a fangame you better start make your own one and see what a hard work it is for yourself.

the answer to your question (when we will get a F13 ame for PS3/Xbox) is : When pigs fly all over the frozen hell. Why? check the discussion in the other fangame blog (I won´t repeat all the arguments made by the user here, I am too tired).
My computer is old and slow, therefore I have am iserable framerate for the 3D game, but as far as I can tell it´s great.
Hats off to this game. Already an improuvement than the NES F13.
When are the lazy folks at Microsoft or Sony going to make a new F13 game? What are they waiting for? this issue gets me so frustrated!

This game was very cool but it was so annoying getting stuck in doorways. I’d have to restart it.

It’s always nice to have Jason models and the campy/woods environment but it does look extremely dated. I’m not exactly gonna give it praise because it’s one of the only Jason games available. Might as well say the NES game was great. Had this fan game came out in say maybe 98-03 I could see myself enjoying it for a while.
It would be nice to play a current gen game in Camp Crystal Lake but developers wouldn’t know what direction to take it to make it successful. So it just probably looks like a bad investment to them. Look how long it took the gaming industry to come out with a good Batman game. Speaking of that Batman game, if Jason used stealth like Batman in Arkham Asylum but of course with ridiculous amounts of gore it could make for a good F13th game.
That’s just one small piece of the puzzle to make a decent game though. You’d have to think about boss levels you know something that could actually keep you from unstoppably killing everyone and completing the game within 2hrs but still be fun.
I don’t know everyone, I think this is the best looking fan game out there right now. Scratch that, best looking Friday game period. If there is one with better graphics, please let us know as I would love to see it. Now, I think a lot of you are looking at this in terms of todays game systems, but I look at it as a N64 type of game, which is not bad by any stretch of the imagination.
I think this game is a lot of fun as it’s great to be able to walk around as Jason with different weapons and wreak havoc upon any and all victims. This is a great job done by Havoc. I think he should be given kudos for the work he put into this!
This is a great game. A big improvement over the nes game for sure.
I have had it for a while and still enjoy playing it from time to time. I know the guy who made it was also working on a halloween game as well. I haven’t heard any status updates on it or when it will be released but hopedully it will be done soon. I can’t wait to play it.
This game is worth a look for those who haven’t played it.

You need to learn how to take constructive criticism without losing your cool. Have you ever read a video game review in your life? They are full of comments that state where a game “needs work.” It is not meant to be offensive. I am a member of a few mod-based message boards for various game consoles and I KNOW FOR A FACT that creators of independent video games release games that “need work” all of the time. What they do is release a beta version of the game first and then release updates for it until the game is complete or until its the creator loses interest in updates.

It’s a fan game for god’s sake…… it’s the best fan game out there. What do you expect PS3 graphics????….maybe the ability to hack and slash with a Wii handset?! All from a fan made game?????

It’s definatly a decent game, you can’t have high expectations from a fan made game, but is it just me or can anyone else hear Michael Myers’ breathing like he does in the original?

you need to check WHO you are giving constructive critisim about WHAT. You are giving ONE person a hard time for sonmething that has never been done before , something that yo can get for FREE!
There have been several demos and BETA´s of the game. This is version 1.2 AFAIK (the first release didn´t even run on my computer). And guess what: Havoc moved on (and is working on a different game). Heck, I know that there are some technical aspects which would imrove my 2 fangames … but I moved on. It´s finished. It makes no sense to make 15 updates and continue working on the game years after it has been released.
Look at other fangames out there. Fanadventure with AGS for example: I am dying to see Indiana Jones and the Fountain of Youth, Star Wars: Shadow of the Empire, Indy and the Secret of Pandora, Indy and the Crown of Solomon etc. Those projects have been in the works for YEARS. Behind each of those projects is a team (no just one guy) and all they managed to release over the years where tech-demos or short demos. The chance that they ever come out finished is very slim. Bizillion of fanames end up being aborted. Hey, look at MSKen, who never finished a projekt AFAIK (I played several demos of his F13 3d games, but never saw a finished game … no offense).
“It needs more work” …. yeah, a company with a team of dozens of programmers who get PAID for their work could make the titties of the female game-characters bouncing or have the birds on trees shit in order to please those guys who are bitching even if something is for free! That won´t happen because F13 would not make a good “commercial” game.
Havoc obviously worked hard. And everyone who loves fangames (or everyone who appreciates hard work) will see that.
(I am still waiting for YOUR fangame).
Chill out Germ the game is ok and that’s what it is. There are other fan games and full conversion mods out there that are done with more detail. Like I said why give it more credit then it deserves simply cause there aren’t too many F13th games out there. Stop telling people to make THEIR own fan game as if you have to make one to be able to recognize mediocre work. I’m not bashing the author either cause everyone starts somewhere, but it’s not something I would rank above 4/10.
If your content then that’s just awesome I guess, but don’t expect everyone to share your point of view by telling them that they should appreciate it for what it’s not.
Yeah I have had this game for over a year now and I stilled havent played it all the way yet lol. For some reason it gets choppy and skips a bit and makes the gameplay frustrating.. BUT…
It does have good quality’s and considering there is no game out there minus the NES, so beggars can’t be choosers, but it’s a great fan make though. So I give props but I hope he puts out a newer version that’s not so buggy.

I am telling people to apreciate it as a fangame … which they obviously don´t. They expect it too be as good as a commercial game.
“The graphic´s look dated”. What a load of bull. The different Jason-models are excellent! Look at LucasArts latest Indiana Jones game (Staff of kings) … does their Indy look very detailed? Are the graphics in Jaws – Unleashed very detailed?
“The graphics are on the level of games from 98-03″. Whoah, guess what? It´s a FANGAME for crying out loud! If you want graphics that are on the level of current games then buy one at the store but don´t expect it from a fangame that you can buy for free. If you guys had an idea what kind of hard work goes into the making of a fangame like this (or even a 2D game) you wouldn´t bitch. I bet that all the people who are critizising the game would give up even making a 2D game after a couple of hours of trying.
3D fangames are rare, almost non-existant (except those bizillon of Sonic fangames), because they are very difficult to make. Havoc is just one guy (not just a team of programmers) who was able to finish such as mammoth project.
If you think Havoc´s game was “mediocre” you better not try MSken´s 3D Demos, Shoveit´s TCM 3D demo or Pigfarmer´s Halloween 3d demo. They tried to make one but (to this day) unfortunatley never finished one (because it´s just too much work for just one person who does it for free). Havoc finished his game after months (or even years) of production and his game obvioulsy is the best thing in 3d horror fangames.
“There are other more detailed fangames out there”? There are hundreds of half-life/Doom/Wolfenstein etc conversions or bizillions of Sonic-fangames (while those gmes are fun, they are hardly as original as games that are build from scratch). But free-roaming 3rd person fangames are rare because of the complexity. There are some (even “some”which might be more deailed than Havoc´s game) but that´s such a marginal number that a comparison would not be fair.

I myself love the NES Friday the 13th. I actually beat the game! This game above is passable, but it’s time someone picks up this license and makes a full throttle Friday the 13th for the ps3/Xbox 360.

I agree. It is a great time for any studio to secure the rights to a next-gen Friday the 13th sequel. The potential for large sales are relatively high given the box office success of the remake. The impending release of the sequel next year only elevates its chances of success.
I’m actually curious as to why game studios have stopped making games based on R rated horror films despite the fact that games in general have gotten more “mature” over the past 10 years.

I downloaded the game and really only have one complaint… it’s too damn dark! On the last level I literally had to just guess my way to the end, I couldn’t see anything.

Hi I just saw the video, and dled the demo.
From what I saw its atleast a game however.
I know you been working on this for years, and not to be mean, but
that is not the type of game were looking for.
The ai doesn’t even make jason work for it, and there is no suspense , drama or emotions like in the movie. I just call this type of game a dull, and repeat slasher game with no purpose.
For example, were looking for a game that plays like the movies with alot of drama, and suspense with emotions in it. I’m actally a programmer myself. Thats one of the reasons i’m here I would also love to have a awsome game of friday the 13th. Now when I mean playing like the movies I don’t me graphics being like movie quailty with shaders. I mean gameplay and how it behaves just like the films.
Here is an example you can play 2 players in the game either the camp counselor, or jason.
Your job as the counselor is to try and get the kids out while jason is there to make a mess. One thing that works is the counselors have a radio with them, and if he or she see’s him she can call for help and the police arrives and they start searching for jason then start shooting at him this gives you time to escape because jason’s attention is now on the cops.
Even the cops can’t kill him. Jason takes so many hits and his down but gets back up. For example if the cops shoot him so many times, and his down the cops turn there backs away from him. Then jason gets back up after so long, and surprises the cops, and kills them. After that jason is on your trail again.
By the way this can also happens to you if no policemen is around , and you knock jason down. Thats a taste of how it will play plus. If for example how collision works if someone shoots jason in the right shoulder it makes his shoulder and some of his body turn 4 degrees away from you and he moves back some. I got tons of ideas how to make this like how the movie plays.
I will give one more then I will be quiet lol.
Example jason surprises you in the house, and if you run and stuff is in the floor you can trip over it and its like like the movies when you trip his comming after you and the suspense is building up. Plus if a table is in jasons way he can push it or throw it out of his way like in the movies. I got alot of ideas but for now I will just give you a taste of whats to come if I can get me someone who can 3D model really good, and have good animation with bones, and rigging + skining I will make this game for everyone. Since this is a free game I can’t pay no one because of this being a fanbase game for everyone who wants a really awsome, and decent friday the 13th game.

Hi I just wanted to say i’m sorry Havoc for being so harsh about your game. This is the 1st fanbase game out there. I wil give you credit for atleast making one, and all that hard work you put in it.
However maybe me, and Havoc if the company wants me to help them. Maybe both of us can flip this around, and make this one of the best friday the 13th games ever.

Only thing if we both work on it were basically going to have to start about from scratch again if you want my ideas, and details in there of how a movie game should be. If you don’t won’t me to help you then I would like some modler to step up and I will make the game everyone should have. With awsome gameplay plus shader graphics of next gen systems. Not counting a really awsome stroyline. Also this won’t take years either or maybe even months to make it.
I basically can make any game out there I just need 3d modelers that can also animate. If I have that I can make this game.
Thats one of the problems I have when trying to make a 3d game I can’t program, and make 3D organic models and animate bones with skinning.
I’m just a pure game programmer, and nothing else.

I was searching the web to see what kind of ruckus I’d find out here concerning our hockey masked serial killer and games. I want to start off by giving the team or person who did the game above a lot of props. I’ve been dying myself to see a good Friday the 13th game, so last year I started writing a game document on such a game. I recently moved into the art phase and I’ve joined with a group of professional artist who thought this idea would be a lot of fun. So we decided to make a Friday the 13th game and if it takes well with the public then we’d like to pitch it and have it officially be made into a console or pc game. I’m not going to share much on the game play or description of the game, that’s on the hush hush. I do however feel like you guys would enjoy a picture of our masked serial killer game character…he is almost done… started him on Monday the 8th 2024 and I’m just adding the final touches… O by the way this is is a snap of Wednesday’s progress, so for you Jason fans out there… I fixed the mask… he will have some hair….etc etc
