Custom Mezco 3 3/4 inch “Jason Takes Manhattan” Figure (NEW PICS ADDED 9/28)

JasonVIII3

With a little paint, time, and imagination, it’s pretty awesome what you can add to your Friday the 13th collection. Recently, Mezco release their 3 3/4 Cinema of Fear series featuring Freddy Krueger, Leatherface, and of course, Jason Voorhees from Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter.

Today, I ran across an extra figure on the store shelves. The leg was broken off in the package, and I inquired about a discount which I received. I decided to just glue the leg back in place, and have a little fun with it by transforming it into another incarnation of Jason to add to my Friday the 13th collection. If it didn’t work out the way I wanted, I wasn’t out much considering what I paid for it. I have done my fair share of custom action figures in the past, but I can’t say I’ve ever worked with a figure of this size. I have to admit, I’m happy with how it turned out.  I will take better pictures very soon and add them to the article.

Huge horror fan. Mainly the slasher sub genre. Die Hard Friday the 13th fan. I'm not like a lot of viewers. I love the entire series. Yeah, there are things about some films that I don't like. But I can honestly say that I don't hate a single Friday flick. I love to write and to bring info to people. So this site and my love for that go hand in hand. 1. Awesome, Tony! Looks real good. Now you need the Julius head and you’ll be all set ;)

  2. lol. Thanks. I’m trying to think about possible accessories to add to him. So it’s possible..

  3. That is pretty cool. I can’t wait to see what accessories you make for him.

  4. Good job man.How about JJ’s bloody guitar as an accesory…………..KI,KI,KI,MA,MA,MA.

  5. googd job except manhattan stunk as a film , is that a final chapter mezco? DID YOU CUSTOMIZE THE FACE

  6. good job,i wonder why they havent done a jtm figure yet any way?

  7. Sick figure, you should probably add a burned mask

  8. I have yet to customize the face, but I’m considering it. Not sure I’ll bother though being as though I’ll just be displaying it with the mask on and there’s no real use in having the face.

  9. Looks pretty good! It’s a shame that neither NECA nor Mezco have given us a JTM figure (even though I don’t care for the film, I do like his look in this one. Plus, the rabid completist in me wants a representation of Jason from every film)

I’ve been considering picking up an extra for the purpose of doing a reboot custom, but I just haven’t had the time. Good work on this one Tony! Your work is always amazing!

  10. nice, i think it looks better than the real one.

  11. very well done looks fantastic!!

  12. Speargun! Jason used a speargun to kill victims in three films (Part III, IV, and VIII). To my knowledge, no Jason figure has ever come with a speargun. That’s what I would accessorize a custom figure with.

  13. I put some much better pics up in the story. I also did a 3 3/4 remake Jason as well as a 6 inch Madman Marz. If anyone happens to be interested in seeing them, the pics are here

  14. I like the pics at the Mezco board, Tony. The ramke Jason is real good with the realistic flowing hair. Great work as always!

  15. Hey there Tony.If i had the skills you have i’d definitely do the face under the mask just to complete the job.I’d like to see the end product.Good job again buddy………KI,KI,KI,MA,MA,MA.

  16. I’d like to see under the mask!
