Friday The 13th Helps Anchor AMC Fear Fest 2024

The channel AMC use to be more well known as American Movie Classics, however, the term “classics” was lost on the channel a few years ago. That being said, they did start a very cool annual tradition of Monsterfest for the Halloween season some years back. In recent years, the choice of films to accompany this festival of films has been lacking. One complaint from fans of this website has been the lack of Friday the 13th films. Last year, only Jason Goes To Hell was shown. This year, however, that is about to change.

The Friday the 13th series looks to help kick off the Halloween Horrorthon on AMC starting on October 18th, beginning with the classic that started it all. Check out the showtimes for the films below and don’t forget to visit AMC’s website for all things Halloween in the coming weeks.

  1. Wow, it’s pretty sick to think that these movies are now “old enough” to be considered classics! lol But like you said, Jason, I think AMC uses that term very loosely now. :p
Anyway thanks for the info, as always!

  2. At any rate, it’s nice to see our fave slasher do his thing on cable TV. My only question, where the hell were these movies this past Friday the 13th? Not that it really matters considering my collection-but still, cable needs to give love props to Jason and horror fans

  3. As time as gone on, the Friday movies have become less relevant to show on TV. Unfortunately, it is just a fact. I am hoping The Final Chapter is shown in its TV edit version with all of the cut scenes from the Deluxe DVD inserted in. I have an OLD VHS tape of that edit and it’s cool!

  4. I remember when they first started this they had a good selection of titles now all they show are halloween 4 and 5 and thats about it lol. Im ready to see the first halloween all the fridays and nightmare and puppetmaster and some stephen king

  5. Awesome! I’ll be tuning in on that Monday.

  6. Its about time really by the sound off it!!

  7. Thats awesome. I love monsterfest, and from the looks of the schedule Jason is going to dominate it this year. Maybe if We’re lucky, thell play The TV version of The Final Chapter and Jason Lives with the extra scenes made for TV. It should be an interesting Monsterfest. I believe its going to end with the premire of The Walking Dead which Ive been looking forward to. For those Who dont know, its an upcoming series about zombies based on the comic book. Oh and the makeup is being done by none other than KNB. This is going to be a cool October.

  8. WOW….unless I am reading the AMC website wrong, they arent showing ANY Halloween movies during October. I love Friday the 13th, but not showing Halloween movies during October is
    Sac-Religious.

  9. Well damn its about time AMC got enough sense to add more Friday’s to Monsterfest. Last year sucked with only JGTH. Thank you AMC for playing more FT13ths this year. I love Monsterfest and have watched it for years as a tradtion, but love it more when I see more Jason films

  10. I did check the AMC site and looked ahead at their schedule. They are showing a lot of F13’s and other horror films. I did not see any Halloween movies, but their schedule only showed up to Oct 23rd. The good news is that the horror movies start showing on Oct 18th at 6pm with Tremors. AMC the past couple of years have only showed 7-8 days of horror movies. It looks as though we are getting 13 days now. Until I see Halloween movies on their schedule I will sit in anticipation…..how can they not show them ??? I am sick of the Halloween 4 & 5 only.

  11. Finally Amc is showing the WHOLE SERIES instead of 3 and 7 for one night

  13. I seen that the first 6 were on an HD channel down here in Florida without commercials and full rated uncensored versions on I think Epix? Is that the channel name? AMC is nice to give the viewers something like that. Even though ALL of us pretty much own the series in many different formats and can watch them whenever, I’d gladly sit back and watch a marathon like this…but only if it were the original “Monstervision” with Joe Bob Briggs, or even “USA UP ALL NIGHT” with Gilbert Godfrey…I mean the actual recorded things including ALL ’90s commercials. Kind of like what MTV2 did a while back on Friday nights with the whole retro thing…Anyone else agree?

  14. [...] the AMC schedule? It looks like from Oct 18th through the 22nd are the Friday The 13th Movies http://fridaythe13thfilms.com/blog/f…ear-fest-2010/ Then the 23rd through the 31st are the rest of the movies [...]

  15. Much better job this year. The selection is great. Need a few more universal monster movies next year. Thanks for not skipping halloween three, one of my favorites!

  16. I enjoyed the Friday marathon, last week. AMC did a great job with it. I wish they had added a few more Halloween sequels, but that’s okay.
The other movies surrounding these marathons are the same movies, over and over, everyday. Tremors, House on Haunted Hill and the sequel, Carrie, etc… They’re good movies, but these movies are shown everyday. Need more of a variety.
What happened to the older monster movies, which used to be on all morning through the middays ? You see them, but at 4am. I love the old classics.
Overall, AMC did right with the Friday and Halloween marathons, but missed out on so many other classics.
