Ultimate Edition Fan Edit for The Final Chapter

finalchapIf you head over to Scab’s Friday the 13th and Horror Blog you can find out the details on how you can download his fan edit of The Final Chapter. I have seen his individual scene edits and they looked really good. I can imagine he put some good amount of work into pulling this edit together. Check out his edit and let him know what you think. 1. That sounds cool.

  2. I’m interested to see how they do it since the alternate ending had no sound. Did they get some good imitators and sound effects or just leave it as is? I’d love to hear a good loop job.

  3. i’m very anti-torrent after some bad experiences with them in the past, so unfortunately i won’t be checking it out.

i’m working on my own edit with nothing but extended gore scenes, cause that’s all i really want. it’s turning out great. i’m looping some of the music to fill in the blank spaces and shortening things like the shot of the aerobics video on tv to show more of the coroner’s death. aside from color differences (which i’ll work on later), it looks great. you can zoom them to the same aspect ratio and it looks right.

what’s great about these slashed scenes is you can actually match up right to the frame the parts right after they cut away in the r-rated version and extend many of the shots. it’s all there. i can’t believe we have all of this footage after all these years of people saying we were crazy for thinking it existed.

i’m even taking some liberties and adding in shots that may not have been the director’s intention to use, like the above shot of the chick on the raft…because i just love her ass so much!!

  4. Dont be anti-torrent. Bittorrent is the best thing to ever happen to file sharing. TPB FTW! I find torrents to be much more legit than the crap people find on the p2p networks.

Cant wait to see the extended scenes, id never have the patience to do an edit like that.

  5. Torrents are lame and were superseded by file storage websites like Rapidshare and Megaupload eons ago.

  6. i will wait for the tommyblah version. it sounds like a lot of care is going into it. that chick’s ass IS really nice. But is it real? Didn’t they do a full body cast? Not that it matters. It still is her ass after all; in Axel’s words, “All ya gotta do is go over there, take off your…” Nice talk real nice talk. I get the top copy.

  7. i look forward to watching it, too. started the download already and i gotta know why it has to be an entire 4+ gigs in size. it’s in a rar archive, so i have no idea what the file format is. im hoping that someone converts it down to a smaller size, perhaps i will when i get ahold of it and repost it.

  8. I did something similar to this with Part 2. The VHS cut that I have at home has every scene with Steve Dash cut and replaced with me in the potato sack mask. Since I couldn’t afford to hire real actors for my new scenes, I just created a bunch of cardboard cutouts (from Kinkos) with their liknesses and redid the scenes by myself. I used the same sound from the movie by recording it from the TV to a tape recorder. When I did the scenes, I would just play replay the sound effects from my tape recorder and put it close to the camcorder. It turned out pretty top notch if I do say so myself.

Has anyone seen that scene from Napoleon Dynamite where Uncle Rico records himself playing football? Well, that image is sort of a crude example of what I did.

  9. Walmart Man, I would totally watch that…..but ONLY if there was a commentary by you.

  10. To be totally honest here this is quite illegal unless you have the original film. This is not public domain. I am all for fan edits, but you gotta be VERY careful.

  11. psh, what are they gonna do, arrest all of us? doubt it. that would be like busting all the pot smokers or nailing every speeder at once. hell, media sharing has finally opened some eyes to the fact that people WILL download media for free and without any hint of personal guilt, so we are starting to see accommodations to make it even more convenient for someone who might not have a TV service to stream any show via HULU. you still have to see ads on there, but it\’s only one small ad per commercial break and the movies are uncensored. the market accommodates, gentlemen. download this edit of the best friday that was ever made (imo). download it, enjoy it, and show some love to scabboy and let him know how greatful you are for the work put into this project because you know Paramount isn\’t gonna do it for you.

  12. i will have to check this out soon, ive never done any of this filesharing before, i did pick up a bootleg of friday 4 years ago on vhs with some of these scenes added back in, interested to see what it looks like dvd quality.

  13. The Walmart man is THE best.

  14. unfortunately it is true that you can get into some trouble putting this stuff out there…though they haven’t cracked down on torrents yet. paramount is very hostile when it comes to their property.

i apologize if i’ve gotten anyone’s hopes up with my talk about my cut, but i won’t be selling it or making it available in any way…though i will grab a few excerpts and put them on youtube so you guys can see how freaking cool it looks. the preliminary cut i have right now is SOOO sweet. i just need to get better at making color correction effects with windows movie maker.

oh yeah & peter, it is her real butt in the above shot..they only use the cast for the other angle. she is so hot. i made her death extra long and added music to give it kind of an epic feel. she deserves it. i absolutely love her.

walmart man, you are the man. if you can get paramount to release a special edition with that cut, warrington gillette may finally get the credit he deserves.

  15. To Nosferatu, Eagle Eye, and tommyblah,

I really appreciate your positive support. Thanks for believing in me when so few in this world actually do.

I think my favorite scene in my cut is how I redid the wheelchair death from Part 2. Instead of just seeing the guy get whacked in the face with a clever and then rolling backwards down the stairs, you actually get a second shot of me doing a spinning back kick on his face to drive the clever futher into his skull. In my version, it’s the force of this kick that actually sends him down the stairs backwards.
