Those Hard To Find Friday Soundtracks
I remember in 1993 walking right by the Jason Goes To Hell soundtrack and thinking, man, I should buy this. Then I thought I would buy it later. Time flew and before you knew it the soundtrack was gone from the shelves. I know that it isn’t the best score of the franchise, but I think it still has some of the classic themes necessary for the franchise.
After the Internet and eBay boom came about, I got myself a copy and all was good. However, I was still looking for tracks for the other movies, but didn’t want to spend an arm and a leg to get them. I love my franchise, but I have other needs that require my bigger chunks of money. Through time I acquired a lot of what I was looking for. The one soundtrack that alway eluded me, however, was Jason Lives.
A few years back I found a blog where the guy actually had 58 tracks of music from the out of print CD and posted it for download. I downloaded it, but the tracks were only named with a track number. So, I began the tedious task of renaming the tracks.
I’m still hoping that Manfredini can pull together his resources and release an ultimate edition soundtrack of all his music. In the meanwhile, us fans will continue tracking down tracks and CD’s the way we have for over 20 years, which actually makes us the fans we are!
For our Soundtrack fans, what’s your crazy stories?
why would you want to purchase aNYTHING THAT HAD TO DO WITH JASON GOES TO HELL
I got hold of a copy of an unofficial compilation called Friday the 13th Special Edition. It’s got all the main themes and songs from the first eight, even including that dodgy rock song at the beginning of Jason Takes Manhattan.
Ha ha, No hair. I know the general disdain people have for that movie. However, as I mentioned, there is some of the original cues in the soundtrack that I like. I read somewhere that if the movie did not reference Jason and was a stand alone horror movie, that more people would have liked it.
Christian, that sounds like a cool CD. I found that song, Darkest Side of The Night, at the Camp Blood website for download. I think that website has the Pseudo Echo song from Part 5 as well for download. All free, of course.
I found a few on blogs, and found some cool ones right on Mr. Manfredini’s website.
I think Manfredini touched on this before, he can\’t put out the music because he no longer has the rights to it. Sad, maybe Paramount and NLC (or whoever now owns it) can do it.
I have always wanted this soundtrack for the Alice Cooper songs on it. I love that track which I think is called “hard rock summer” from Alice I think.
Does anyone have more information about that track?
Not sure if you guys know, but we may not have to wait for the studios or record labels to release the Friday the 13th Movie scores. I have discovered sites that have somehow have rips where they isolated the score from the blue ray DVD of 1-3 and have it available for download! Sounds awesome!!! Also there is a bootleg of the Friday the 13th Part 6: Jason Lives soundtrack. It is from the original masters. Here is the article with the link:

Friday the 13th Part 6: Jason Lives – Harry Manfredini
Theres alot of info that surrounds the Friday the 13th scores. I
see people all the time looking for the scores for all the films which, in reality, is not possible. “Why?’ do you ask?. Well here’s the simple
version.
Harry Manfredini was hired to write an original score for Friday
the 13th but the music was later reused for the next 3 films. Like this:
Friday the 13th – Original score
Friday the 13th Part 2 – Reused score, no original music
Friday the 13th Part 3 – Reused score, new original main title.
Friday the 13th Part 4 – Reused score, no original music
Friday the 13th Part 5 – New original score
Friday the 13th Part 6 – New original score
Friday the 13th Part 7 – Half score reused from the previous films, the second have new muisc by Fred Mollin.
Friday the 13th Part 8 – New original score by Fred Mollin
And there you go. Now on to the score. A few years back, Manfredini stated he would like to release a 2cd compilation set of his music for the Friday the 13th films. Sadly though he said all the original masters were damaged from time and he would have to reperform them on hi ssynth. To this day he still plans on doing it but not anytime soon.
Luckly, a bootleg floated to the surfice for Jason Lives. Someone who had a dat copy of the score transfered it to cd. This is a very rare score since the masters are long gone now. If your a big fan of Friday the 13th and horror scores, I suggest you grab this little gem.

I have now the complete scores from Parts 1,2,3,6,7,8,9,10,FvsJ, and the F13 remake.Let me know if your interested in some more links.
I also have the downloaded score to obscure House/House 2 and Swampthing soundtrack. I seen the albums selling for well over 100.00 on ebay and Amazon. I am still looking for the scores to Wishmaster, The Children, Hills Have Eyes Part 2 (original)…can anyone help with a link for a download? Email me if you need help locating these scores as well Robstarr1814@yahoo.com
just after i saw part 3 in 3D,i was in londons oxford street shopping and having a look around HMV and there was 2 LPs i wanted to buy, 1 was friday the 13th part 3 soundtrack, and other was a vannessa paradis album, but i only had enough money to buy 1, and after a short while i decided to buy the friday score and boy was that a right choice.
i transfered it to a cassette tape so i could listen to it in my car, and it has never been played since, and it is now one of my prized collectors items.
it is really in mint condition (with the 3D glasses), and is as rare as rocking horse shit. ive still got the 3D glasses that i saw the film with.
its funny how you keep things.
i know you can download the album now on cd, but to me you cant beat having the original LP.
its funny looking back at that moment in HMV and thinking i could have bought the other album, and that would have been a big mistake.
‘I have always wanted this soundtrack for the Alice Cooper songs on it. I love that track which I think is called “hard rock summer” from Alice I think.
Does anyone have more information about that track?’
Yes, TED, there is a four-disc boxset entitled ‘The Life and Crimes of Alice Cooper’ that features not only Hard Rock Summer but also Teenage Frankenstein and two versions of He’s Back (The Man Behind the Mask). If you’re a fan of him I strongly recommend this as it is remastered and also includes rare songs, early material and soundtrack music as well as the hits. Hope that helps!
I have several songs from the films, they are:
Lion-Love Is A Lie(F13TH 4 when Crispin Glover is dancing too)
Metropolis-Darkest Side of the Night(F13TH 8 opening song)
Alice Cooper-He’s Back(The Man Behind the Mask) (F13TH 6 Theme + video)
Alice Cooper-Teenage Frankenstein(F13TH 6 the song Cort listens to before he dies)
Freddy vs Jason soundtrack
Drowning Pool-Bodies(Jason X trailer theme)
I do know where to get the techno dance song from F13TH 5, but haven’t gone to get it yet.

“I think Manfredini touched on this before, he can\’t put out the music because he no longer has the rights to it. Sad, maybe Paramount and NLC (or whoever now owns it) can do it.”
As I said before Scabby, his website has quite a few of them.
Mark SAW, that “label” stuff is BS. Let me make this clear to everyone…THIS IS A BOOTLEG! Don’t waste money on it, just download it. There have been many cases of people trying to make big money off CD-Rs on eBay. I’ve reported many of them.
Ans jasonsfury, the “Special Edition” CD-R you speak of is even worse. Just movie rips and some scenes with dialogue. Nothing you can’t do yourself.
I don’t know if anyone is interested, but I still have the original F13 – Part 3 vinyl LP. I’d rather see a fan have it than it sit up in the storage in my garage.
Make me an offer.
Paul Kratka (‘Rick’)
50$
Good to see Paul Kratka on the board!
rick i will pay 100
I second what CraZRalph said! Hi Paul…nice to see you on the board!
if your name is really cj and trying to be me hahahaha sucks but if it really is then oh… and the icon stays the same for your email so ill pay 110$
robstarr and Mark Saw,
You guys found it. That is the blog I found the Jason Lives sounds. I could not remember for the life of me where I found it, but you guys got it.
hevymentl13,
You’re right. I found and downloaded all of the clips on Harry Manfredini’s website for Friday the 13th. That is why I mentioned in my post that I was hoping at some point he would be able to pull together all of the soundtracks. That would be awesome.
Paul Kratka,
It’s great to have you on the website! Thanks for mentioning you have the LP from Part 3. Could you post a link to an image of the LP? I think it would be great our visitors to see what it looks like. It might help get more people interested in acquiring it from you. Thanks!
Damn…I’m finally right about something, sweet.
Hard Rock Summer by Cooper rules Christian and i got it on my media player and play it quite often to say the least haha…
and welcome aboard Paul
I may not have the vinyl record from Part 3 but i do have the dead battery from Paul’s Beetle in Pt. 3 lol
Glad to see you here man !
I agree Rob, it was a fun song. Shame more F13 movies didn’t have cool songs on them
Friday The 13th Part 3 has the best soundtrack, maybe I’m just biased because Part 3 is my Friday….
favorite Friday*
Thanks for the Alice Cooper info Christian. I very much agree about cool songs like those being on more of the other movies. How about bringing back Cooper for an upcoming Friday movie or someone like Rob Zombie? I also know of another local band that would be a good fit from Detroit here called HALLOWEEN The Heavy Metal Horror Show.
I doubt they’d get Zombie has he’s associated with Halloween now, but you never know. The nu-metal soundtrack for Freddy vs. Jason was just annoying, at least the Alice Cooper songs were upbeat and added to the fun nature of the movie. Wonder if Alice’d be willing to come back ;-)
I think the Freddy vs Jason soundtrack was more “new Metal”, than “nu Metal”…and it really wasn’t too bad at all.
Someone have the tracklist for this one also? Its a Soundtrack with 53 tracks of music. I would be very happy if someone could help me!
:)
Friday The 13th Part VII: The New Blood
http://www.soundtrackcollector.com/catalog/soundtrackdetail.html?movieid=30582
Robstarr, not all the music from 2-4 is re-used. As a matter of fact, there is a lot of music in the second and third film that were not even in the original. It is possible that all of it was written during the scoring of the original, but it all wasn’t used so then it became music to the sequels, but Parts 2-4 definitely had a lot of music that was not in the first film.
Rich,
I agree with you. Not all of the same music is re-used in the first four movies. Each movie used different variations of classic themes that make each movie stand out. I can think of many scenes in each movie that have unique sounds not heard in every movie.
That was a quote taken directly from the post of the link. I know they only reused the score for 3 and 4 and only had new music for the peice at the beginning and the end reels. But im guessing they aren’t paying that close attention.
Rob,
Forgot to thank you for the clip. I appreciate it. It sounds great!
im pretty sure i downloaded the same soundtrack from the same blog, because my copy of the part 6 soundtrack is 58 tracks but no titles. I found the fred mollin part 7/ part 8 split CD as well, its pretty cool, as well as the jason goes to hell one and even the crappy series one. I have the original 4 movie soundtracks as well, but, part 5 is the one that got away. i know its almost entirely the same as the previous entries before it but there are slight differences. i need it!
Robstarr (and everyone else for that matter),
Introduction to Horror (11:34) was the main title written and recorded for Part 1. It was also re-used in Part 2, but so was Moments of Madness (15:10), which was written and recorded as the quote-unquote main title for Part 2. If you have the Original Soundtrack LP (record) that’s in 3D of Jason smashing through the window with an ax, you know the tracks I’m talking about. Excerpts In Terror (5:14) was nothing more than a shortened version of Moments of Madness. Part 3 had a new Main Title (3:17) written and recorded for it as well, but the movie itself had bits & pieces of Introduction to Horror AND Moments of Madness in it here & there. Part 4 used none of the main theme from part 3, however it did use bits & pieces of Introduction to Horror AND Moments of Madness.
The most frustrating part of all of this soundtrack Q & A for anyone who has been truly dedicated to getting all the music is knowing that there were, in fact, TWO (possibly THREE) pieces of NEW music written and recorded for Part 4. I’ll explain why I say “two, possibly three” tracks in a moment. First of all, most folks have what they believe to be the opening credits track and also the closing credits/main theme track for the movie that they downloaded from the Internet, and they think that is it. The popular belief is that those were the two new tracks for the movie and that the versions they have from the ‘Net are complete and IN THEIR ENTIRETY. WRONG.
They THINK they have the full tracks. Trouble is, they only have half of each track. Watch the movie. Music actually begins right at the very, very beginning of the movie as the Paramount “Mountain” is shown on the screen. This track continues while the flash back of Paul from Part 2 is giving his scary little intro about Jason and we see all the other flashbacks. Trouble again is, it’s virtually impossible if not totally impossible to extract just the music from this scene without getting any dialogue. This track continues right up until the flashback of part 3 where Chris puts the ax in Jason’s new mask, he falls, and you hear her say “Can’t be alive!”. The screen fades to white, then to black, and you hear nothing but silence for a split second. I’m not 100% sure, but I believe that this is in fact the ending of that first track and that it does not continue into the music that immediately begins for the opening credits, but I could be wrong. And regardless, it really doesn’t make a difference if it’s one or two tracks, now does it?
And again, once the screen fades from pure white to pure black and there’s that split second of bare silence, the music starts up again and continues until the end of the opening credits where we see the light of the helicopter shining down on Higgins Haven. That section of music during the opening credits is one of the two popularized tracks that have made their way to the Internet. It was never officially released, but as there is no dialogue spoken during its playing, it would be no trouble with technology today to simply rip it from the DVD, convert it to mp3, and upload it onto the Internet. And it’s obvious that someone(s) did just that very thing.
The next track from Part 4 that is impossible to get IN ITS ENTIRETY is the closing credits/main theme. Again, what somebody must have done was to record/extract the track from the DVD right at the point where dialogue ends and just record from there. Watch the movie. Right at the very end, where Tommy (Corey Feldman) is hugging the sister in the hospital, as he does that weird opening of his eyes, that’s where whoever ripped the track began recording and just recorded from there until the end of the ending credits. But the track begins way before that! It actually begins, and most people don’t realize this, at the very instant that Tommy pushes the character of Trish away and begins chopping Jason up with the machete. The track is loud and frightful for a moment, but then it calms down and is very faint once the scene fades and enters the hospital scene with Trish and the doctor speaking to one another. Listen. It is one continuous track from the time Tommy shoves Trish right up until the Paramount “Mountain” is shown once again at the very end of the move. But again, it’s virtually impossible for someone to record the track from their television with the dialogue (and screaming in the case of this track) while just extracting only the music.
I have contacted Harry Manfredini via e-mail several times about the matter of getting the tracks from Part 4 with no satisfaction. He won’t give me a straight answer of whether or not he has copies of those tracks (which I’m sure he does), let alone whether or not he would be interested in just kind of doing a friendly neighborhood favor of selling me a copy of those tracks “under the table”, so to speak.
My question is this: Is this truly impossible to extract ONLY music from a scene where there is dialogue spoken over the music? Does the technology exist to do this? Robstarr, you yourself stated that there are sites where people have ripped the score from the Blu-Ray? Is this in spots from where there was dialogue and they were able to extract ONLY the music, or is the music simply where there was no dialogue to begin with? If this can be done, and someone has the technology to do it, then perhaps they would be generous enough to do it when Part 4 comes out on Blu-Ray (if that’s the format necessary to do it). If it’s possible to do it with only a DVD, then someone who can do it would be nice enough to do it now!
on blue ray and deluxe edition DV you can isolate the score. the music is on a totally seperate medium…how they do it i am not sure of, i have heard some bad rips that have some sound effects, like part one where annie jumps from the jeep in one version u can hear the jeep accelerate. I would love to know how they do it, but rest assured when the 4, 5, and so on come out there will be rips and i wll post the links
WOOO HOOO!! I’ve been searching forever for those tracks in their entirety. Did you watch those parts of Part 4 yet? Did you see, or rather hear, what I mean? That’s one long continuous track from where Tommy shoves Trish out of the way & starts chopping right up until the Paramount “mountain” after the closing credits. And also don’t forget about the music going on during the beginning during the flashbacks. Awesome stuff! Isolating the music, ripping it, and then posting it would be soooooo cool of you!!
And again, all that stuff I’m talking about was in fact newly written & recorded stuff just for Part 4. You won’t hear that stuff anywhere in Parts 1, 2, or 3….or any other part for that matter! And as far as I’m concerned, it’s some of Harry Manfredini’s best/scariest stuff.
I agree, JCG. I think that The Final Chapter is his best score. I like 1-3, 5 and 6 as well, but The Final Chapter is definitely his scariest and most menacing.
Very cool stuff great blog!
Also, not to mention there was, indeed, new stuff written & recorded for part 5…beyond just the opening & closing credits. Watch the movie over again. It’s a whole new score. The stuff from the first 4 movies isn’t heard anywhere in part 5. It’s all new stuff. Man, to be able to isolate that music from the other noises in the movie (dialogue, sound effects, background noises, etc.) and rip it to get the entire scores for both parts…4 AND 5…how sweet that would be to have those on CD!!!! Can’t wait for those two movies to come out on Blu-Ray!
It’s just a shame that Paramount has always treated us F13 fans like their ugly, red-headed step-children and that we have to go to such lengths to get this music.
I have the part 3 disco theme on 33rpm vinyl. It’s a pretty sweet piece of Friday memorabilia. Gotta get the Alice Cooper record one day even though the song sucks as bad as Crispin Glovers dance moves!
Actually I kind of like those dance moves now that I think about it. ALWAYS good for a nice laugh. HOLYJUMPINJESUSCHRISTMASSHIT, Ted, where the hell’s the corkscrew!!
Still waiting patiently for those blu-rays to come out (Part 4 & Part 5) a month and two days from now. It’s not gonna go fast enough. Robstarr, are you still planning on posting the isolated scores from those two movies once they come out? Just wondering as I’m just dying to get them! Please say, “YES”!!!! I don’t have a blu-ray player, and I really don’t want to buy one just for the sake of two movie scores.
Track 56 on the part 6 soundtrack is not “He’s Back (Demo Remix) by Alice Cooper”, it is in fact “I’m No Animal by Felony”.
Any reliable links to part 1-3 soundtracks from the blurays?
Anyone know where I can find JJ’s blues from Firday the 13th part VII; Jason Takes Manhattan? :)
It would be awesome if someone could send the song to me or just send a link where I can find it.
Thanks!

5. jason lives
does anyone have the correct tracklist? please i really need it :(
Wazaman, where did you download all that stuff from?
It’s been a while since anyone has posted on here, but I’m going to give this a shot anyway. I’m looking for the score to the 2024 remake from Steve Jablonsky. I have a DVDrip that someone made, but it regretably has sound effects in it. Anyone know where I can find a promo or a bootleg of it with no SFX?
Ey Michael, I’m looking for that score also…on the website of soundtrackcollector.com , there was a tracklist of the complete instrumental score by Jablonsky, but the cd is nowhere available..I just don’t understand that…same with the Amityville Horror- score by Jablonsky…only could find one track, but no album is available..I’m not a big Jablonsky-fan, but those 2 scores are still on my wish list…and ofcourse I would give alot for the scores of parts 4 & 5 from Harry Manfredini..that would complete my collection….
Hey wigstroem, have you ever gotten the list for those 53 tracks for the New Blood soundtrack? I have that soundtrack too, and I’m also trying to get a track listing.
Hi,
I want to know, what the name of the song is in Part 5, which is played in the car at the diner, where Lana works and her boyfriend is waiting outside in his car and plays this awesome song.
Please tell me the name of this song and the name of the band.
Many greetings from germany
Peter
