why not just put up a director’s cut verison of the movie?
I don’t think there is enough interest in this movie for a New Line to put the effort into a director’s cut.
i would want a directors cut.
good news not a huge fan of this one but im stoked jason is getting more blu-ray releases i hope it all comes to blu ray in the future.
there never really was a director’s cut. all the nudity and gore passed with an R rating…the alternate beginning is okay because it’s at crystal lake and skips the opening freddy crap, but the alternate ending is garbage.
this is pretty much the same as the dvd release. i don’t know if i’ll be upgrading. after seeing the movie a few times, it’s just gotten to annoy me. even the worst of the f13th series still gets a regular play from me, but jason is so bland in this one. ..and he’s kind of the butt of jokes rather than an antagonist. the plot all revolves around freddy, and out of the freddy entries, the acting, pacing, etc. is closest to ‘freddy’s dead’ (the worst of the noes’s).
maybe if they offer it at a good bargain price i’ll go for it.
OMG, I remember that I loved FvJ when it first came out. I also think that the alternate ending sucked. I like the original ending better.
Anybody know when F VS J is being released on blu-ray in the UK.Cheers………….KI,KI,KI,MA,MA,MA.
Not sure when the Blu-Ray is being released. I know Canada had it’s release in January, so I would assume the UK should be soon.
the great thing about blu-ray is you don’t have to buy the one released in your country/region…there’s no region encoding and no PAL/NTSC crap. amazon.co.uk always has the US versions available. in fact i’m in the US and i buy a lot of bds off of there because the UK has a much bigger horror blu-ray selection. i’ve never had a problem playing any of them.
You’re wrong there- there IS region coding on a fair percentage of Blu Ray titles. Mainly from Fox and MGM. Admittedly it’s not so prevalent on catalogue horror titles but it still exists.
Hope your good luck continues though. :)
I doubt I’ll be picking this up day one for the $20-$25. Maybe a few years down the road for $3-$5 out of the bargain bin.
I think I am going to pick this up next week. Anyone else looking to dip into Blu for ol’ Freddy and Jason?
