  1. looks cool. can’t wait to see it. Would love to have a dvd copy of this when it is available.

  2. I second that. Let us know how we can get a DVD of it. :)

  3. I bet this shit is 100 times better than the remake.

  4. Really good poster, brillient!
look forward too seeing the film.

  5. awesome! i’m stoked for this one. ill look forward to seeing it.

  6. These folks look like they are keeping things sharp. I wish they were dealing w/ canon, not a quasi-remake. The lousy fan films on Youtube always try and deal w/ canon, they are usually poor.

I will check this out though, they are trying hard.

  7. What is this 2ndsuitor dude talking about dealing with Canon, what the fuck is that supposed to mean? This guys sounds a bit conceded to me. I personally think these guys work looks super, I saw their Halloween fan film and it was amazing. Some people just have to bitch. LOL I am really pumped about this film. Dealing with canon…WTF. Weird. You mean a Canon camera? Some people gotta lotta nerve.

  8. canon. as in events and details that are established and accepted as fact in the Friday universe, as they appeared in the original films. the 2ndsuitor is trying to day that he wishes this fan film was based on those events and details rather than being a “non-canon” storyline. am i right or am i right?

  9. *say, not day. dammit!

  10. Oh, I guess I kind of see. LOL. Looks like the filmmakers are taking a fresh approach. Why try to make some stupid sequel, I’d much rather see an original story. It doesn’t seem to me that they are trying to produce a remake, Not even a quasi one. I saw what these guys did with their Halloween fan film and they definitely have their shit together.

  11. Jasonsfury I have a question. If there going to put this fan film out on dvd, they’ll charge to sell it. How do they get the rights to sell the Jason and Friday the 13th properties? Will any money made go back to the copyright holders? There has to be copyright laws involved. Just wondering if you know they can do this.

  12. ShoutAtTheDevil,
From my understanding, the creators of the fan film are not going to sell the DVD. Their plan is to release it on Youtube for fans to view. However, they are also planning on giving away DVD copies to fans who do not want to watch the movie in 7 or 8 parts on Youtube. So, they aren’t violating any Copyright Laws, that I know of at least?

  13. To answer your DVD question, yes there will be DVD’s available, No they will not be for sale. We NEVER sell our fan film DVD’s. They are for the fans only and are absolutely free. They will however only available on a limited basis. We will be giving away several copies right here on this site as well as on cryptshow.net.
NO ONE who makes fan films should ever try and sell them. That is a direct violation of copyright laws. I really do not know what ever gave you the idea that we were going to be selling them, as no one ever said any would be for sale. Anyhoo…there’s your answer.

  16. The poster is awesome. Looks really cool.

  17. @barnhanger
You made my point perfectly for me. Thank you.
    @William Bell
No, I’m not conceded or have a lot of nerve. But I do have a dictionary! Snoogans! JK, man.
I was, in my own way, trying to compliment Southlan-Films, they do good work. And w/ something like Halloween & F13, the franchises sort of become bigger than the filmmakers can handle, and become “owned” by us, the fans. F13 is pretty much mythic and the actual franchise still has some loose threads like I would like to see sewn up. I was just wishing that the talented people at Southlan, part of us fans, would kinda take it and do it proper.
But I’m not down on them, now that I realize what they are trying to accomplish & will try to check it out, if possible. I was just wishing people who cared could do what I was looking for. That’s it.

  18. 2ndsuitor, I get ya but don’t you think that the filmmakers vision may be different from yours. You should do your own vision. I personally like people who do this kind of thing, and I don’t feel we should get all nit picky with them. That’s just my opinion. Plus I like the way you said I will try and watch it if possible. Me, I will watch it for sure.

  19. Hey some folks have their own opinion on things. I’m sure Mr 2ndsuitor does have his own idea of a Friday movie, with things that he would like to see in a film. I guess the best way for you to get that my friend is to go out and do your own film with your own ideas. Sorry if what we are doing is not what you want to see, but we have our own ideas for the film. Everyone has their own vision.
