Fan Films: Friday the 13th Mother’s Day
I thought I would continue posting some of the great fan films that have been released over the past couple of years. Today, we’ll showcase Mother’s Day. Mother’s Day is based on the story made into a novel of the same name, which was written by William Pattison (aka Eric Morse). Check out the interview with William Pattison conducted by our own Tony Carroll.
Synopsis:
A group of teenagers embark on a weekend getaway to the closed down camp of Crystal Lake. Little do they know, a local hunter has released the evil of Jason Voorhees and now their weekend of fun will become a weekend of terror.
The film was made by Cory Stevens and Vile Entertainment. The film logs a running time of about an hour and a half and develops it’s characters quite well throughout the first half of the movie. The high praise on this film has been the use of all of the different Friday the 13th movie scores and also the awesome rock music. If you listen carefully throughout the movie you will pick up on even the most obscure music that has popped up in the Friday franchise. So, if you’re interested, you can watch the entire movie below. Or, if you are interested in watching the movie on a fuller screen, visit http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ucMjDdFbIEQ
any news on possible copies of the other fan flick jason fury? I sent an email.
Wow. I haven’t seen this. I’m really impressed. Awesome. I look forward to more!
saw this when it was released…great movie, do wish they\’d put out a dvd or give us a better quality download so we can make our own dvd. if you read the books..watch it..ready for the next one!
JJ,
I haven’t forgot about you and everyone else that requested the movie. I will let you know hopefully very soon.
I watched this & it was very decent. It accomplished the spirit and the look, while not having a lot of $$$. Most F13 fan films try to do crazy things to the mythology while not having an $$$. These guys took a piece of material related to the franchise, so it wasn’t completely blasphemous, and made a decent flick out of it. I would have liked to have seen them do this with a budget someday. Kudos!
Glad you liked it. I liked the feel of the movie and having the music placed throughout the movie the way they did was brilliant.
Hey all, this is Cory, I directed the film. Thanks for the kind words towards the project, it was a real labor of love for all of us involved. We used to have a website that contained a higher quality download, but that has since been taken down. However, for those of you wanting a copy of the film, we did produce our own 2 Disc DVD set, including the film, and loaded with features such as commentaries, a documentary, all the trailers, deleted/alternate scenes, gag reels a slide show, and easter eggs.
For those of you interested, I only charge a small fee, that covers the cost making the DVDs and shipping them. If you’d like a copy, send $5 to my PayPal: stevens.cory@gmail.com. Please make sure to include the correct shipping address. If you are international, please contact me ahead of time at my email address, as your shipping will be a bit higher. It may take a few days to ship the DVDs once I receive an order, I’m currently out of DVD cases and have to order some more
Thanks again everyone for your support, glad our films still has an audience a couple years down the road!
