Jason Giving Freddy Another Beatdown?

freddy_vs_jason_001Shock Till You Drop posted a story that will possibly pit Robert England against Kane Hodder in the real Freddy vs Jason fight for the ages.

Cameras are rolling in the Los Angeles area on a new FearNet original web series entitled Fear Clinic.

Sources tell us the show is pulling together genre vets Robert Englund and Kane Hodder (best known for their turns as Freddy Krueger and Jason Voorhees, respectively) as well as Danielle Harris (of the Halloween series) and Nightmare on Elm Street 4 and 5’s Lisa Wilcox.

The nature of the plot at the center of Fear Clinic is unknown at this time, but one tipster tells us you’ll get to see Englund and Hodder go head-to-head in one scene (somewhat sating the appetites of those you yearned to see them battle in Freddy vs. Jason). Behind the camera is Laid to Rest’s Bobbi Sue Luther producing with Robert Hall in the director’s chair.

More details to come!

Yes, this is not a Friday the 13th movie, but it will still be  cool to see some of these alumn together. I know that Kane and Robert were in Wishmaster together before, but after the opening scene of that movie, it pretty much stunk. This will be the closest we will get to seeing what we wanted to see 6 years ago. Would it have made Freddy vs Jason better? I am guessing not, but it would still have been awesome to see.

  1. Don’t forget, they were also in Hatchet together!

  2. Another beatdown by Jason! :)

  3. the gruesome twosome were also in. Behind the mask together. where Kane Hodder lived in that all too familiar house on elm street

  4. That was a very funny scene. Behind the Mask is an unbelievable movie. For those who really like stalk and slash movies, that film deconstructs the genre very well. The ending is just plain creepy. Great movie!

  5. Behind the Mask was a good movie. Funny and original. Hatchet stunk out loud.

  6. I liked Hatchet more than Behind The Mask. Hatchet is just plain fun, and doesn’t pretend to be something it’s not. It’s packed to the brim with nudity, gallons of gore, and features absolutely no CGI. Good ending, too.

BTM was kind of boring and unnecessary. Scream already broke down the slasher subgenre pretty well.

  7. That is AWESOME. They needed Kane as Jason in FvJ back in 2024

  8. This is so cool!

  9. yeah hatchet was cool, good point walmart man

  10. behind the mask was also cool, hope we see good sequels for both.

  11. Sounds interesting. But I actually really enjoyed Wishmaster! lol

  12. loved both behind the mask and hatchet. hatchet is a little weak after several watches, being that he just comes out and kills people slowly while everyone just stands and watches, doing nothing. but, i still love it for what it is. behind the mask is one of my all-time fave horror-comedies. leslie vernon is THE MAN!!!

but back on topic, can’t wait for Fear Clinic – it sounds bad ass!! god, i love danielle harris. i had a crush on her when i was 8 years old and halloween 4 had just come out, and i still love her to this day. she’s so freaking gorgeous.

  13. Wonder what they are planning to do here. I have never seen Hatchet or Behind the Mask. I just know you can’t duplicate the original slasher. And why even try?

  14. It doesnt matter anymore….Michael is dead.

  15. Good to see Lisa Wilcox getting some work. After Tuesday Knight bashed her in an interview, I wonder if people are keen on hiring her. Not that Tuesday is famous these days…

  16. Sooo….is this Freddy vs. Jason 2?

  17. yeah it will be cool to see Lisa Wilcox in this, i kind of thought of her as the tommy jarvis of the nightmare series. i wonderif this will be given a decent budget and perhaps a real release after it has been shown on the internet, it still seems like a strange way to market something as fan-friendly as this, i mean this really would have the nightmare and the friday fans built in to purhcase it, perphas this is the aborted f vs. j part 2 that never was…hmmm it shall be interesting to see where this goes though,

  18. 2001 Maniacs…

  19. i think it’ll be great to see Englund and Hodder acting together without wearing masks, and still have it be creepy. Lisa Wilcox is also cool to see again. And let’s not forget Danielle Harris.

  20. I’m really looking forward to this, especially seeing Lisa and Danielle together. Maybe if Kane was Jason in Freddy vs. Jason I would have like it at least a little bit. I really hated the way Jason looked and especially that horrid looking machete. A complete disappointment in my book.

  21. About Fear Clinic
Horror legend Robert Englund (Freddy Krueger of the Nightmare on Elm Street blockbuster franchise) stars as the sinister, maniacal genius Dr. Andover. His obsession: to cure humanity’s worst fears. His method: the Fear Chamber, a device of his creation that can bring any worst fear to life. With Dr. Andover’s extreme methods his unwilling patients will be cured for good…or die trying!

The spine-tingling action of Fear Clinic will unfold over five webisodes. Each will spotlight Dr. Andover’s eerily extreme methods to help a patient at the clinic conquer their greatest fears: from hydrophobia (fear of water), scotophopia (fear of the dark), and entomophobia (fear of insects), to claustrophobia (fear of small spaces) and misophobia (fear of being contained with germs or dirt).

To further whet the horror enthusiasts’ appetite for blood, acting icons from three of Hollywood’s biggest horror movie franchises will appear together. Robert Englund will be joined on screen by fellow genre megastar Kane Hodder (Jason Voorhees in the Friday the 13th franchise) as well as Danielle Harris (Rob Zombie’s Halloween).

The project is directed by Robert Hall (Laid to Rest) with effects from his company Almost Human (Terminator: The Sarah Conner Chronicles, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Quarantine, The Burrowers) from a script by Aaron R. Drane and executive produced by Mark B. Johnson and Jim Burns.

The mini-series will premiere on FEARnet.com and FEARnet’s VOD channel in October as a centerpiece event of its annual Halloween scare-a-bration.

Doesn’t sound like a Freddy and Jason face off to me. Sounds pretty stupid.
