Part 7 Stunt Axe Added To Props Museum
Recently, Mario Kirner added a very cool piece to his collection which happens to be a stunt axe used for Susan J Sullivan’s (Melissa) death in Friday the 13th Part 7: The New Blood. The rubber axe has a metal rig added to it so the axe could be attached to the head of Melissa when Jason Voorhees throws her across the room.

Def a good kill, but why hide her face, whay cant we see he with the axe in her face??
Cat, they covered here face becaue they attached the axe with a strap that run around the head and through the metal rig. The rig is still attached to the axe if you check it out. This is in fact a real cool piece and I`m glad I had the chance to complete the costume with a nice weapon.
I was asked by a friend to check the history of this prop back because he thinks this prop was also used in Part 4 in the beginning when the cops pick the axe up that sticks to Jason`s head and put it in the evidence bag. That movie was filmed 4 years before part 7 and also had a different FX crew, so I think it is not really likely.. but who knows. The blade of the axe seen on screen in part 4 was covered with mud and straw, so you can not see any FX details. I will defenitely try to find out more and keep you guys posted.
