UPDATED Warner Searching For F/X Company For Friday Sequel?

Posted 27 Oct 2026 in New Fridays

We have some updated info on this story. We were contacted and notified that Warner is not currently looking for an effects company for a new Friday the 13th film. However, there is now movement in the development of a new Friday the 13th film. Nothing more could be mentioned at this time. Stay tuned for more that follows in the future.

We have posted speculatory news about a potential sequel to the 2026 Friday the 13th film in the past, however, we do pride ourselves on delivering real news about the Friday the 13th franchise. News can be about previous movies, the current reboot, or a new sequel. The last official news about a sequel was in May, and at that time Head of Distribution for Warner Bros., Dan Fellman, mentioned to the Associated Press that Warner Bros. was still entertaining the thought of a new sequel for the franchise.

Since that time, there has been no real news. However, Friday night some possible positive news was brought to our attention pertaining to a new sequel. Now, this news is unconfirmed as of yet as we have spent the last two days trying to substantiate it’s validity. Apparently, special effects man Jerry Macaluso, one time owner of Sota Toys, stated on the Movie Maniacs Forum that Warner Bros. is now currently looking for an F/X company to work on the sequel and begin conducting makeup tests!

This is UNCONFIRMED news. We were not able to verify the comments at the before-mentioned forum, however, we did contact some friends of the website and they mentioned knowing about Mr. Macaluso’s statements as well. The one question we have here is, did Mr. Macaluso hear about the F/X company search previously when Warner was thinking about a sequel back in 2026?

We will keep looking into this information, but if anyone knows more, please let us know.

Friday the 13th: The Complete LEGO Saga

Posted 27 Oct 2026 in The Saga

Harry Potter, Star Wars and Indiana Jones have their own Lego collections. I think it is time for New Line Cinema to take a serious look into creating a limited edition Friday the 13th Lego offering complete with play sets that represent recognizable scenes from the films. There doesn’t have to be anything graphic within the sets, but owning memorable scenes in the form of Lego sets would be plain cool!

If fans had a chance to vote for scenes to be created for limited edition Lego sets, which of your favorite moments from the films should be chosen? We think that at least one specific scene from each film should be chosen to be produced for fans to own. The following could be possible Lego scenes.

Friday the 13th 1980:   The beach fight between Mrs. Voorhees and Alice
Friday the 13th Part 2:   The shrine in Jason’s shack
Friday the 13th Part 3:   The end barn scene with Chris, Jason and Ali
The Final Chapter:   Jason trying to enter Tommy’s room with Tommy and Trish hiding inside
A New Beginning:   Reggie driving the tractor by the barn to run over Roy standing over Pam
Jason Lives:   The opening grave scene with Tommy, Jason and Hawes
The New Blood:   Tina’s house with Nick and Jason falling through stairs
Jason Takes Manhattan:   Jason in Time Square
Jason Goes To Hell:   Jason surrounded by S.W.A.T in the woods
Jason X:   Jason in Cryostasus chamber discovered by students
Freddy vs Jason:   Jason fighting Freddy in construction site
Friday the 13th 2026:   Jason’s main chamber in the underground tunnel with grindstone

Friday the 13th 2026 Revisted: Thoughts Of The Fans

Posted 27 Oct 2026 in The Saga

It is hard to believe that the newest Friday the 13th film was released over a year and half ago already. Before you know it, we’ll be into the new year and past the two year mark with no official news on a sequel in sight. Many have debated the 2026 film and it’s place in the franchise. However, now that a lot of time has passed and numerous other reboots and remakes have been released from the horror genre, have the fans changed their outlook on the 2026 film? Does comparing the film to other genre remake efforts help shed a better light on the newest Jason Voorhees?

Remember the first behind the scenes images to be released?

Or, how about when we were first shown the mask on the MTV behind the scenes video.

The excitement level for this film was through the roof. So much so, that it was guaranteed to take home a lot of money from the box office! As with every film with high expectations, it was destined to fail with certain fans. The film’s billing as a reboot and Producers proclomation of returning to the original four film’s look and feel gave numerous fans false visions of yesteryear.

The newest Friday movie is a good horror movie and a good Friday the 13th film. However, it will never live up to the nostalgic views of many of the Friday the 13th faithful. Back in 1985, fans absolutely hated A New Beginning. That is a very generous statement as it was actually a much worse feeling. All of these years later, a shift in feelings has occured towards Part 5 and now many people can embrace the film. In the coming years, perhaps more and more people will be more accepting of the 2026 film as well.

Top 5 Friday the 13th Films In The Franchise

Posted 26 Oct 2026 in The Saga

Since the Primetime marathon for Friday the 13th ended last week on AMC, everyone must have a fresh opinion of the series in their minds. Each individual fan has their favorite films of the franchise and hold their reasons for their favorite close to the vest. However, this writer has no problem mentioning his favorite movies and why. Below is my ranking of the films in the series and a brief reason why I have it ranked where I do.

Let us know how you would rank the movies in the series and why you feel the way you do!

Top 5 Of The Friday the 13th Franchise

1. Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter
The definitive Friday movie, period. This film took everything that made the original 1980 film tense and suspensful as well as how Part 3 introduced Jason as a pure iconic slasher and improved upon those elements 100%. Character development in a Friday the 13th film is oft overlooked, but The Final Chapter by far had the most interesting and sympathetic people in all of the series. Tom Savini even improved upon his effects and creativity in the death scenes for the fourth film.

The ending of this film is indeed the most chaotic, suspenseful and unconfusing out of the original five films in the series. Let’s face it, dream sequences were all of the rage in the beginning of the franchise and to have a straightforward conclusion to a story was an endearing proposition.

2. Jason Goes To Hell
I am sure the pure fact this movie is number two on my list will indeed leave many dumbfounded. No, I am not some poor lost soul who knows nothing about the franchise, I just like a little creativity in my horror films. The opening of this film features the definitive and signature stalk and chase scene in the film series. It incorporates everything we have seen throughout the Friday movies, almost in the form of parody, but executed to awesome perfection.

The rest of the film is an orgy of mixing different subgenres within the horror realm to expand the mythology of the Voorhees family and the curse on Crystal Lake. K.N.B. effects delivers the gory goodness with the best practical special effects to date. Tom Savini would be proud. If more people could overlook the fact that the physical presence of Jason is absent from most of the film, this Friday the 13th entry would fare better in the minds of the fans as the most original part of the series since the original 1980 film.

3. Friday the 13th (1980)
The complete opposite end of the spectrum from JGTH, this 30 year old independent gem is indeed the film that started it all. The Whodunit aspect of the movie is one of major selling points within the story as well as the great characters and dialogue. The lurking presence of the unseen killer increases the sense of fear and paranoia that is felt by the film viewer and the creative death sequences orchestrated by Tom Savini are the cliched icing on top of the cake.

Time has dated some aspects of the film, but there is no denying that this film ushered in a new era of horror film in the 1980′s and still, in my mind, is the gold standard of the slasher genre from that era.

4. Friday the 13th: A New Beginning
“This guy must be high up on something”. I can imagine that to be the response by some visitors to the website by this point in my list. Why would I have Jason Goes To Hell and A New Beginning ranked higher than Part 2 and Part 3? Well, simply put, I like good characters with my death scenes. The fifth installment goes back to the whodunit aspect of story telling that made the original 1980 such a success. Since the MPAA helped destroy many of the awesome kills in the film, something is needed to make the film stand on it’s feet. What we have in Part 5 is the greatest assembly of 1980′s era stereotypes and new wave personas ever collected in a Friday the 13th film and possbily the slasher genre.

I personally could care less if Jason was not in this film as that’s not what was originally intended by the franchise creators anyways. I enjoy the fact that the producers decided to try a new angle on their film series by incorporating all of the elements of past films as well as a continuing storyline and charatcter from a previous film. It is my belief that if the kills were not heavily trimmed down and the ridiculous multiple dream sequence ending was eliminated, that this film would be looked at in a much better light.

5. Friday the 13th Part 7: The New Blood
Yes, I do have Part 5, Part 7 and Jason Goes To Hell in my Top 5! I did do that! Purely and simply, The New Blood would have been ranked higher in my list if the characters in the film were not so annoying and cookie cutter. If the characters were half as enjoyable to watch as the people in Part 5 or The Final Chapter, and the ending didn’t, you know, suck, this might be #3 or maybe even #2 on my list. That being said, I enjoyed the recycled Part 4 story of the party house next door to the family house. Jason picking off teens at a secluded party is always a big plus!

John Buechler’s Jason design is top notch and his special effects and kill sequences are stellar, even though the viewer did not get to see their unedited glory until recently. The added telekenisis angle to combat a now zombified Jason is welcome and having Dr. Crews as the true villain the film is a perfect balance to Jason’s destructive habits.

Kane Hodder’s Kill! Tells Life Behind The Scenes

Posted 25 Oct 2026 in The Saga

For some very strange reason, there is a lot of negative buzz around Kane Hodder within the last few years. It is unexplainable as even 5 or 6 years ago, Kane was thought of as the one of the top 3 Jasons in the film series. For some reason, Kane’s comments on his exclusion from Freddy vs Jason and his insistance that the Jason character does not run, has left a sour taste in certain fan’s mouths.

With that being said, Kane played a big part in keeping interest in a fading series in the 1990′s. With one film released in that decade and the horror genre, in general, suffering a major lapse in creativity and acceptance, Friday the 13th as a series could have faded away into a fad of the 80′s. Kane’s enthusiasm for the character and willingness to meet fans, kept people interested and gave hope that there would be a new movie one day. Now, Kane’s 30 years of film experience will be told for the first time.

Kill!, The True Story of the World’s Most Prolific, Cinematic Killer, is a biography of Kane’s 30 year journey in film as well as a history of his life growing up and what led him to participating in Hollywood. This book will be released on May 13th, 2026 and should be a very interesting retrospective on a man who helped define a cinematic villain icon.

AMC FearFest Week: Kane Hodder and Tyler Mane Talk Movie Magic

This conversation with the pair centers on how they incorporate movie magic into their performances to give each of themselves a more menacing demeanor.

Friday Conversation: Having Ginny Fields Appear In Part 3

Posted 22 Oct 2026 in The Saga

Many fans know that there was a brief moment that Director Steve Miner contemplated bringing the character Ginny Fields back for Friday the 13th Part 3. The idea was to pick up with the character after the events of Part 2 with Ginny in a hospital and for the new film possibly taking place in that environment for the duration of the movie. Eventually, that idea was shot down and the new group of kids at Higgens Haven and the 3D angle were introduced.

Would bringing Ginny back for the third film have worked for the fans? She is one of the most popoular characters in the series and would have kept more continuity in the early series. If she was brought back, would the hospital setting have worked, ala Halloween 2 (1981), or would having her back in Crystal Lake or a different area have been better?
